What program should I use?

I own BurlingtonBars.com and would like to begin developing it, but I'm not sure what programs are out there that will be able to handle what I need the site to do (I know of one, but it's not in the budget). So, I'm looking to see if anyone knows of any free ones that are out there.

So, here's what I need:

The index page would only be updated by myself. It would have polls, contests, links, news, a calendar, things like that.

Each bar in the area would have its own page at BurlingtonBars.com. I would place basic info on these pages like location, phone number, etc. If the bar signs an agreement with me, they would be able to update this page themselves as often as they would like (with specials, their own calendar for shows, etc.).

So, each bar page would need its own login, and a graphical admin area so the bar owners don't have to fudge with code.

It would also be helpful for the site to allow visitors to leave comments on each bar page (with the option to turn this off, if the bar wanted), and a general comments area for meet-ups and such.

Any help is appreciated.

There is joomla/mambo that are free content management systems. There's also typo3 and some various others but they are all pretty difficult to make look how you want them to. I'm not really sure how you'd give each bar their own login section but others here might know.

The only other option that I know of is to pay someone else to make you one.

HTH :)

I tried Mambo for a different site...I didn't like it. But thanks for the reply.
