If you are barely making money to pay your regular bills, paying $600 would be a problem for a most domainers.

ICANN (2010-11) aftermarket dictated / controlled by registries (where accredited registrar is aftermarket place / bid eat bid auction house and promotor for the premium, silver, platinum, whatever ext. )

ICA nn - floating aftermarket, without strict rules (where you can do the thing and thing the thing)

    imo

The ICA should consider a "code of conduct." A code of conduct would weed out some of the unprofessionalism that currently exists in the domain sphere. In that aspect they should at least, at minimum, help define what professionalism really is.

Right - I'm not sure if my comment above was clear or not. Members that pay, are supporting ICA, in effect paying for ZaK to be an advocate for domain investor interests. In my opinion Zak does a really good job at this. He's very intelligent and active.

However, the influence of the ICA is still very limited. For every Zak, representing domain investor interests, there are dozens of hired gun corporate lobbyists that have other interests.

I feel that the ICA might be able to expand their influence if they had some kind of free level of membership, where a person would contribute time, perhaps by trying to get involved in the ICANN decision making process, or in some other way related to the skills of that person.

I don't think most people here really 'get' the idea of why the ICA exists. It's kind of comical to think that people would only want to join if they'd get a free t-shirt or some consideration equal in value to their payment. The ICA exists because domain investors interests would otherwise not be considered at the policy making level.

Wait, the $600 goes to pay for Zak to be an advocate for domain investors?

Is this the same Zak that represented Mr. Booth (poorly IMO) in trying to (some may say intimidate?/ others may say facilitate?) the owner of CQD.com (@spoiltrider) to pay $25,000 to recover her domain name CQD.com that was stolen from her?

Yeah, because that's a good representation on the domain aftermarket. SMH

I have sent a few emails to ICA. No response. Do they only respond to gold membership queries?

IMO get real and get heard. Engage. How about some NP:s presence for starters?

I haven't got any sense at all of what the ICA can do for me, at ANY price level.
