Debt is a tough category to get a decent pagerank (competition). I have a feeling it will take a lot of money.

Pagerank (PR) is not connected with competition. PR mostly relays on (quality, related) backlinks.
Yes, you can buy those backlinks but beware - some paid backlink 'services' will just spam tons of other blogs with your site (which can lead to google penality - pr0 and low indexation), some will provide you with 'nofollow' links, some will sell you expensive links from fake high pr sites etc. Better go with manual link exchanging, it will take time, but costs nothing and you'll get quality backlinks.

Competition is important for indexation - higher competition you have, harder you will be indexed on first google pages. DEBT is highly competitive term and you will not be able to get indexed high without very serious (and costly) development, imho, which would be greater then domain value.

About your expenses with your blog service, wordpress is really easy to handle, once you start. You have cheap hostings for couple $ per month and you can do all that by yourself.

Agree on the above. You shouldn't lose even a MICRO-second of sleep over your PR. I have had PR4's and PR5's lose their rankings because I had the AUDACITY to sell my own links and advertisements on the websites.

Did losing my PR ranking make *any difference? Not one iota! Traffic and happy visitors is the name of the game. I pay attention to my Quantcast and Alexa traffic stats.

One website was a PR5. Was making a few bucks a day using the 800 lb. Gorilla's advertisements. Got disgusted with that and began selling my own links and ads. Lost my PR within 60 days. Funny thing was, my website's income increased 5 fold by running my own ads.

Don't let this questionable "metric" guide anything that you do.

Every name here is different and every name was bought, I am sure, for its own unique purpose. Some names are great for a particular development and some purely for an investment.

There are some truly wonderful names in this list and, I must say, one or two howlers as well!!

One name I really can't stand is MANU.tv (also, go Blues!!) but I can see the attraction.

Really like Supermarket, Street, Idea, Media, Electric, National, England, ID and Gifts, but MY favourite so far would be DIGITAL.tv
