Hi, I would like to learn PHP and any other "languages" that would allow me to build websites and or edit the ones I already have.
Please let me know a few names of books and or videos you would recommend for a complete novice..

I have absolutely no experience, so it would have to be very basic to start and then ....

Thanks in advance.

Haha, somebody didn't exactly like that link (red rep) :p -- remember:

You could read reviews, etc, and you'll find that they are more helpful than a domainers' forum. On product reviews you'll have a very interested audience writing to you, the reader. Here you just get people that generally do it on the side. As you use forums more you'll realize, too, that they're good for getting non-urgent help on very specific issues that can't be found elsewhere. Searching to resolve a common problem or find answers to a common question is almost always faster, and it's more enlightening to do the research yourself.

As far as PHP goes, you'll want a book that will walk you through examples. I read CSS: The Missing Manual, (The Missing Manual is a series of books) and I quite liked how it was written, very informative, and described best practices. I would suggest if the reviews on PHP: The Missing Manual are good, to buy it and have a read.

Let me know if its good as PHP is the next language I want to learn :)
