Just wondering peoples opinion on the value of names with "i" or "e" in front of it.
Which is and will be worth more in your opionion?
for example

ireview vs. ereview

idomain vs. edomain

istupidity vs. estupidity

imoney vs. emoney

isee for the .ca there are 51,602 "e"something domain names registered

i see there are 41,598 "i"something domain names registered

so e is more popular it seems what is more popular with you?

iPal.com started things off placing #7 on the top 40 selling for $59,000. The domain previously sold for $7800 in april of 2005 on Enom's Club Drop.

iPoolTables.com sold for $7,000

iRebel.com sold for $2050

iStockbroker.com sold for $2750

iBoxing.com sold for $2750

iDoors.com sold for $2000

iTurn.com sold for $2000

I see even .net and .org sell nicely, you cannot be greedy and look for .com pricing but a name like iconsult.net selling last week for over $1300 is nice. Again IMO

Not to mention (all in the past 2 years)...

iSearch.com - $300,000
iGuide.com - $100,000
iPets.com - $75,000
iBanks.com - $38,000
iLicense.com - $28,000
iUS.com - $25,000
ii.org - $22,895
iGossip.com - $18,000
iMode.com - $17,001
iArt.com - $16,694
iTrust.com - $13,100
iTeam.com - $10,650
iVow.com - $10,215
iQuotes.com - $10,140
iReplay.com - $10,000
iDonate.com - $9,000

Its interesting....Even just over a couple of years ago, it seemed no one wanted 'i' domains.

I remember sitting down one night just 2 and a half years ago, and hand regging about 50 'i' domains that were available for reg fee - names like:

iCardiologist.com
iSharebroker.com
iGymnasium.com
iAgeing.com
iLakeside.com
iSoftdrink.com
iFlyDrive.com
iHairdressers.com
iFashionDesigners.com
iWaterfronts.com

etc

Probably any one of them sold today, even in today's gloomy market, would pay for the lot 5 times over, and more...This business can move so fast...!

I knew that name looked familiar. It just dropped.
I had it in my maybe bucket but passed... Sitting out there for reg if anyone wants it.

A couple other decent ones: eScrewdrivers/iScrewdrivers (as well as singular- all ancient drops going back to 02). Just picked up iSuitcases.com from yesterdays drop. Was going to pass, but decided to get it.

Dong do you own any I geo ? I remember chatting back with Frank Schilling on his blog he liked them, he was going after one I was going after (obviously he won) iSanfrancisco.com.

I own iVillanova.com and iMiami.net in the geo area.

It varies from word to word. eMoney is a lot better than iMoney whereas iLove is more valuable than eLove. eBank and iBank both are equally good names and it is difficult to say which one is better. We must not forget that many big household names start with e such as eBay, eLance etc. i names got popular in the wake of Apple’s branding of i words, I guess.

It really depends on what name you have, either i or e can match domain name but in most case it sounds good for most general and e for anything electronic or online like mail, commerce, trade....
I do have a e domain that it is use as electric rather than electronic for the abvr., I call this branding, same as iPhone, it's not a internet phone but it's about branding.

As Brad stated earlier, iVerb > eVerb (iHop > eHop) and eNoun > eVerb (eCommerce > iCommerce). However, eVerb and iNoun do often still hold value.

While I agree that eKeyword and iKeyword do hold value in many cases, I generally don't chase these on the drop or in the aftermarket because domainers tend to be too fond of hem relative to their end-user value. Combinations like KeywordPro and KeywordPlus, and KeywordDirect, however, tend to be underbid relative to their end-user value. Take this from a domainer who's very transparent about his discoveries.

I own iVillanova.com and iMiami.net in the geo area.

They're probably my favorite of all the prefix "types" and I own several (nothing quite as epic as iSanFrancisco, but a few pretty good ones).

He (Schilling) and I actually share some common prefix/geo space (it's pretty much impossible to NOT share common space with Frank Schilling :D)- he owns eBellevue.com and I own iBellevue, which I purchased from a NP'er earlier this year for cheap.

But yeah, love them. I'll probably be full-scaling a Chicago related one later this year. I hate even talking about them out loud since they're so ridiculously underrated in relation to their development value, particularly when the pure .com owner is a garbage farmer and letting it rot on PPC.
