The future of e, i and z prefixes?

With the huge success of Apple's iTunes recently, its hard to completely dismiss the i prefix as worthless. But it only seems good for things you can get over the internet. imusic.com vs iautorepair.com, lol......lots of $$$$ vs $0 value.

Is the z prefix completely dead? Besides Amazon's zshops, I can't think of another big success with it.

What about the e prefix? eBusiness, eFlowers, etc.

the "z" prefix was a big flop. It was hyped big time in late 1999 among domain speculators as the next big prefix after "E" and "I". I think even "v" has done better than "z". :)

A lot of people dismiss the "e" prefix as out of style or dated. I still like it myself. It's still highly recognizable to the general public, thanks to the successes of eTrade, eBay, eLoan, eBusinss, eToys, etc.

I hope "e" names are still good, because I plan to develop eOgre.com:).

I think I and E are still great, within reason.

The E or I only seem to sound right to me when added to a major keyword, otherwise they just don't feel right, and I would never think of just typing them in, unless they were major keywords, and i was looking for an alternative to what shows up on those major keyword extensions only.

like majority said..prefix doesn't really matter its what prefix is attached to matters..good luck

Plus "e" or "i" work best with one word instead of 2 or more.

Another pre fix that could have potential is "g" for green (i.e. environmentally friendly). At Fortune.com, there's quite a spread about the green business revolution. The "hydrogen economy" seems to be getting alot of buzz.

For the record, I dont own any g pre fixes, but something to think about.

If you want a good laugh for z pre fixes, check this out:

i and e prefix domains are still well sought after - We have picked up at least 300 or them in the past 4-5 months with solid keywords following and have had good luck with their sales. Nothing like a few years ago, but still good sellers. Apple uses iBook - and many others - They must know something as I am sure they could have bought tunes.com from Rolling Stone Magazine for the right price, prior to branding.

I prefer "i" over "e". Not quite dead yet, but you can't tell the future.
