Hello,

can someone tell me a bit about the worth of domainnames for parked?

I mean for arbitrage there are domains good where keywords are in. But what are the domainnames that get traffic only from the name?

I dont speak about metatags and so on, only the domainname.

What about Domains with 2,3 or 4 digits? Are they better than for example computer.com or something else? Computer is a long word but probably often searched. How is the relation there?

I looked for the 2,3 and 4-digit-com-Domains. They seems to be all registered. So what domainnames are worth to be registered after this.

Where to have to look for domains that are attracting visits only because of his name?

Can someone tell me or give me a link where is something explained about this?

Greetings!
Sebastian

Direct relation. You need searches to have type-in traffic.

But as long as I heard domains like xyz.com are generating traffic too because they are that short. Maybe for some mistyping or something.

Computer.com for itself isnt at the first page of google. There are mostly seoed sites. So I think you can go top even without computer.com. But computer.com has a huge worth. For what when its not that high in google?

Im searching which domainnames are getting traffic only because of his name. Without big seo...

There are basically 5 possible types of traffic:

1) Natural type-in traffic. People tend to put their search query to the browser window and if your domain matches, you get the visitor. That`s the reason why computer.com is valuable. Same reason gives traffic and value to names like playcomputergames.com or freecomputerwallpaper.com
2) Typo type-in traffic. Someone would like to visit computer.com, but accidentally types in wwwcomputer.com or computerz.com. That way good typo may bring you lots of traffic.
3) Search engine traffic. If you have top 10 SERP for "computer", it doesn`t matter what is your domain name - could be easily fdkjjlalhiii-ujfd-hl.com. Though with computer.com you rank much better using same quality seo optimizing than with fdkjjlalhiii-ujfd-hl.com
4) Referral traffic. If you have backlinks, directory submissions etc, you can get some visitors via these links.
5) Targeted traffic. You run PPC ads etc and bring visitors to your domain.

So, first two types are "only because of the name". Sure, shorter could be better, but also very long names with high search volume can give you huge traffic. Best way to find such names out - do research searches. Domain must be usually .com or strong ccTLD. Same keyword with .ws most likely doesn`t get type-ins at all. Referral traffic is also good for parking, but you can get only few visitors that way.

Good typos may have decent search volume as well, but not necessarily. If you think you found great typo, but name has no searches, you need to test (taste) that domain.

Thanks for comprehensive Answer.

So what advice would you give when I dont want to buy Domainnames but only register some that get traffic from her name?

Searching for mostly searched words? If they are registered then search for typos? Whats the best way to find the domains that are already free and will have traffic?

It seems that domains like ret.com or hhh.com (only samples) or something with a small number of signs arent so good in you opinion than natural word-searches...

What are the next strongest ccTLDs? .net .org and so on?

.com is pretty much king for natural traffic, but .net and some stronger ccTLD may work as well (.co.uk and .ca for English names, .de for German names etc).

I would recommend to stick only to .com unless you are really experienced. There is still amount of good names available. Try to find free variations using Google keyword tool, Wordtracker, Keyword Discovery and OVT.

Also we have great opportunities here at NP. Visit threads for available names - they are updated frequently. And often you can find pretty strong names for sale at marketplace for $5...$25

Good luck!

By the way. Why are the most registered Domains Domainnames without a - in it? For example computerstore.com will be registered faster than computer-store.com it seems to me. But wouldnt it be simpler for google to find computer-store.com when someone is putting computer store com into the url-bar? Why are the domains without a - more registered?

And would it bring traffic when for example computerstore.com is registered but computer-store.com isnt? Or would the first domain get the traffic?

.COM is King, for many reasons, including that it has a high percentage of US/ Canada traffic.

Generating traffic is one thing, monetizing it is another. For example, Chinese traffic has been hard to monetize.

For some examples of keywords that are easy to monetize, I would say adult and dating and a few other categories.

How about monetizing with parked.com or other parking-sites?

And whats the thing with or without the "-" in Domainname?

Its all a matter of preferance really and the fact that the domain without the "-" in it is already taken.

EXAMPLE:
COMPUTERSTORE.COM TAKEN
COMPUTER-STORE.COM AVAILABLE

Computerstore.com most likely gets alot of natural type-in traffic like explained above where as computer-store.com may take some work to get traffic to it like PPC traffic, links on other sites, etc.

That to me is the biggest differance in having a domain with or without a "-" in it.

Ok, Computerstore was a bad sample because naturally its one word. But what domainnames are better when its more than one word? For example someone is searching for japanese hybrid cars. If there are the sites japanesehybridcars.com and japanese-hybrid-cars.com available and have the same content. It seems to me that google prefers the first domain, also does the domainer. Is this true?

Honestly

Its hard to say what google prefers.
There are just so many variables on what shows in the first 10 of results of any paticular keyword.

In the domain industry the first one:
japanesehybridcars.com

Will bring more $$$ in the sale of the domain name itself since it has no "-"

Any domain without the "-" is always gonna be worth higher $$ to the domain investor or even someone looking to develop a domain name.

In fact I recently sold a domain name for $500 to someone who wanted to develop the domain. It was a domain with no "-" in it.

800remodel.com was the name and who knows potentaily if I owned 800-remodel.com instead most likely no sale or not even close to a worth of $500

Fine thing your sold...

Im wondering that you got that price. I would think with the number before there would be a real huge number of similar domainnames. I looked shortly with eePire and it seems that 801remodel.com is still free...
But good to know.

It looks for me that there are some persons out there that even dont look for free domainnames and instead at first buy the domains that are good looking for them. Maybe they even dont search them but if the see them they buy it because it matches a project of them.

If thats true it would be an important point where to put the domains into. At Sedo or similar sites such persons can browse the domains. I even heard of a person that made adwords for a two word domain for 2 dollars and only at these two words and he sold the domain for 16000Dollar or so. But I think he choosed a good one for that because others tried the same with no success.

At the moment I mostly have .info-Domains for PPC-Campaigns with parked but I want to find a way to have a more safe income. I know what happened to Adwords-Adsense-Arbitrage and because of that it would be fine to be steeled for the case it dont work anymore.

So whats the best way to make money from good named .com-sites?

One way would be to sell them. So wheres the best place to offer them? Sedo, Adwords, Parked or something?

Second would be to park it maybe at parked. Then make some Metatags with Keywords that have a good KEI, some keywordsentences in custom content and if its in google cache it could make the money within a time without ppc. But I dont know how fast that works...

By the way... how to find out the worth of a domainname? I found a Website where this could be done automatically. But the website is nonsense. Every site from me would have a worth of some thousands which isnt realistic.
But I presume that the worth can be found out from KEI or something? Is there a formula?

Maybe the best way would be to choose Domainnames from KEI?

Greetings!

Hey sebastian,

if you want to sell domains, sedo is the best place.
you don`t have to park your domains with sedo when you try to sell the domain.

sell a domain is one

monetize a domain is something other, there are many different ways.

type-in domains are one of the best ways, but how you can believe it`s not to easy and many professionals are wake up, too. but if you can think out of the box, you maybe can register domains about topics that come up in the future or something.

I think 99% of the domains that get natural or typo type ins are not available.
So you should think about to buy domains.
And if you have done your homework in keyword research and some expierence you can get very good domain names.

I would say it`s a good offer if you can buy a domain for the price what 1 year type in traffic generates for you for example.

Hello,

I registered the first .com-Domains. I dont know if I did choose good ones. I selected them from a keywordlist ordered for most searched keywords. The most Keywords are already registered as .com so I got only the rest...

What do you think of the domains? Do they have a value?

Domains:
priceshybrid.com
salehybrid.com
automobileshybrid.com
costhybrid.com
buyinghybrid.com
hybridcars2009.com
2009hybridsuv.com

How good or bad are they? Should I choose the domains instead of the KEI? Would that be better than choosing from searchcounts?

Is there a formula to find out the worth of the domains?

I sedo is the best way to sell a domain is there a way to park the domain at parked and at the same time list them at sedo?

GrรผรŸe!
