    Hi all NP members,

I got one free .com domain to be registered (provided by my company), but I dont think I can monetized it.
So besides registering my own name, which is kind of a waste, what other name that you guys recommend me to register?

Register what you feel you need. It's only $8... price of a coffee.

I assume that in US the price of a Starbucks coffee is $8, I couldn't know.
In my country, Romania, the price of a Starbucks coffee is starting at around $3-$4

It is a unique opportunity @exa-Edward Is it just free for one year, or renewal too?

If long term free I would try to come up with a domain name in some topic that you understand that you think will be big in a few years. While odds are it will not sell, you never know, and you personally have risked nothing.

If just for one year, I would register something that you think might sell quickly, list it free on Undeveloped at a reasonable price with a nice lander, and if it sells put that money into other purchases, and you are off and running as a domainer! :xf.smile:

It is hard to give specific advice other than browse NameBio for what has sold in the last year, and choose something that you understand to some degree and sounds like a proper term some end user might want.

    Best of luck,

    Bob

(off to make my few cent coffee, in case this was to be a discussion of coffee prices! :xf.grin:)

Try a family member, like a spouse or a child.

I don't think it's a waste at all to register your own name. first, last, or both.

Thanks Bob for your advice. Well, this domain will remain free as long as I stayed with the company.. so it really depends on how long I will stay in the company not how big that domain will be.

I can't really sell that domain, it will tie to me and not allow to transfer to anyone else.

The reason why I feel it is a waste is because I don't plan to do anything with my name on it like Tony Robin or Gary Vaynerchuk. It will just another domain registered and waste of space in the database. :xf.grin:

A short 5/6 letter brandable might be a good idea then? Maybe in the format CVCVCV.
