What Does This Mean?

The domain (Domain Name Removed) is a Governmental Reserved Name and is available for registration only by eligible applicants.

I found this on name.com whois page but enom.com says the domain is available. I went through the process to register it but my card was not billed in the email I received from enom, stating that it is a restricted name.

If I should go by premise on name.com, is there a possibility of owning the domain name?

Presumably this is one of the new GTLD's. I think the likelihood is you will not be able to register this domain.

Were you trying to register a short (e.g. 2-3 letters) domain name under a country-code TLD or one like .PRO? I have seen this message before for certain TLDs.

The reason why eNom's system shows the domain name as available is because the domain is in fact available -- that is the status they get back from the registry. However, eNom is not able to register the domain name for you because registration has some special restrictions that eNom's system does not or can not handle.

The only way to register these domain names from my knowledge is to go straight to the registry and contact them about registering the domain name.

Then you can work with the registry to see if you qualify to register that domain name or not.

Ok Igalvez. Thanks for the heads up. Yes, it was a 2 letter .pro. who is the registry in charge of .pro?
