What does INVISIBLE mean?

IS anyone here using Gmail Chat? I don't know what Google means when they use the term "Invisile"

Wth chat clients it usually means that you have the client set so that others do not see that you are online.

I would imagine it is similar to MSN's "Appear Offline". You are online, but nobody can see that you are.

My point is if you want to invisible, GChat should not tell that you are INVISIBLE by putting "invisible" next to your online icon. Look at my friend, the first one on the list, he is online but Invisible. In other words, he is INVISIBLE but VISIBLE :lol:

If he is offline, it's okie, it shows he is offline.
If he is online, it shows he is online.
everything is great.

But if he is online and invisible, it shows he is ONLINE and VISIBLE with a little note invisible under his nickname.

if you are offline, you has a gray icon
and if you are online, you have green icon
if you are logged in invisible, it shows a red icon. So, I think it is useless :p

:o Gtalk didn't had the invisible feature in past. But now it might have updated.

It've been there since the latest update of Gmail. But the Gtalk (client) has this feature long ago. I use only Gchat in gmail and I used to ask my friend why he could set invisible but I couldn't. He told me he use Gtalk client

I use it all the time o/w I get PMed the whole time I'm here

As I told, it is useless :D

LOL, he's not invisible! :D His status is busy (or whatever it is) and has changed his status message to "invisible". My elder sister does it all the time. :D Except she puts "offline" when she's actually on the busy status.

(I don't use Googletalk so I don't know what the different status you can select are called on there).
