I have a .COM domain name for a big Chinese company whose site name is mydomain.com.tw.

I have just sent them an offer. How much should I accept if they got back to me?

I have hand registered this domain myself.

No chances... .com.tw is not good TLD.

Do you have the .Com? Think we need some more info before we can make any judgements.

Yes, I have the .com and they have the .tw but I can't put the full name here for obvious reasons. It's 8 letter long and 2 Syllables.

Is it a TM?

Yes and no in a way depending how you look at it.

The first 3 letters could either be taken as a TM or an abbreviation but the last 5 letters make proper generic word, highly used in a number of fields. But the fact is, this chinese company must own the .com which I have as they seem to be an international company and the site presents its products in well written English.

How do you know it is a big company and it would like to acquire it?

I didn't say it would like to acquire my domain. I said I'd sent them an email offer but since they've not got back to me, this is their web address:

TESTOOLS.com.tw

I got a "DNS Lookup Error" when I tried to input the above URL in my web browser (FF3). I once owned a dot com domain while a Chinese company (~ hundreds of employees) owns the same domain but with the "com.cn" suffix. I contacted them but they only would like to offer a low $xxx. Good luck on your case!

Thanks.

Even a better company who could acquire it would be "TES Tools and Engineering" a UK company, their current website is TEShiring.com".

With a title like theirs and my domain name TESTOOLS.com they'd be laughing to the bank if they acquired my domain - I've contacted them twice through their internal system but they haven't bothered to reply. If I lived in UK I would personally go and visit them, shame that I don't - lol

Spamming them isn't going to get you a sale. Try calling them.

Pick up the phone, its harder to ignore a real phone call.

I would need to establish a good contact name first. I don't really want to make a nuisance of myself as I know the last person they would want to talk to, would be someone wanting to sell them his domain!

Why not try registering names that aren't company names, it doesn't do much for your domaining reputation...

judging by the quality of there current website I wouldn't say they would be big spenders or someone looking to extend their company portfolio of domains....but i could be wrong?

This is not a brand name. When I registered it I had no idea about these 2 companies. What I had in mind was to develop a site for Software testing and since TestTools.com was already taken I registered this one. But then I decided against developing it hence now wanting to sell it -

In any case, just because a domain name like testools.com.tw exists that does not mean I should not have the .com one. I'd be a fool not to reg it if it existed...

I would not be asking for large amount of money which would be beyond their affordability.

Thats fine, providing its not a TM? Have you checked before sending them an email? If it is a TM, they dont need to buy it from you, they can just take it legally.

I'm not trying to be a pain, just trying trying to advise you of the legal implications of emailing a company with their exact company name in another extensions without doing the required research..it can lead to trouble, thats all

Good luck in whatever you decide
