I need to stop asking you questions but this is my last:

What is better and what is the difference to the user?

Its better to be a registrant, but the difference to the user isn't noticeable. But it's a lot cheaper to become a reseller than a registrant

It is like you can buy your air ticket either through the airline or your travel agents. Sometimes, the travel agent's consolidator fare could be cheaper. Sometimes, the air line offer the best fare.

NOt sure if anyone has said any of this but I believe you are better off becoming a reseller and targeting people offline, like small and medium sized busiensses. The domain market is HIGHLY saturated with discount domain regs like GD, NC, and many others. It's dog-eat-dog and those that are at the top have too much of an upper hand on you.

As with any market, once said market becomes saturated you (the small guys) have to cater to a niche and do it well in order to be able to even have a chance at any degree of success.

Good luck, whatever you decide.

Taylor.

I think he means to say "registrar", not "registrant". The "registrant" is the person registering a domain (like you and I do). The "registrar" is the person who actually sells and enables the "registrant" to register the domain (ie, Godaddy and NameCheap).

It is much easier and cheaper to become a reseller than it is to become a registrar. He's 100% right.

Plus, to the OP, do not forget that it costs mondo bucks to get ICANN accredited and if you think you are going to compete with the big boys and not become ICANN accredited registrar, I think you will find out that it won;t happen.
