What do you think about this domain?

- Knowing that .dev is a new TLD from Google and it targets companies, technology projects, and development projects and more .

- This domain can be used to create a website international in software or technology projects for Lenovo devices or a forum for Lenovo device developers, or hundreds of other ideas.

I think you made a bad choice, it's worthless, and if you try making money from it, you might get in trouble.

Thanks Joe,

I knew it wasn't a simple case of don't do it or else. I'm familiar with certain aspects of the law but I know that it is complicated for a reason. Personally, I stay away from anything that sails close to the wind but others may have more genuine uses for their domain names.

I will leave it to them. Let the Domainer Beware.

Regards,

Reddstagg
I'm so far from a legal expert it's not even funny. I just try to follow a few cardinal rules:
  • Don't buy names that match really popular brands.
  • Don't try to sell a company its own name.
  • If your domain name matches a trademarked name, don't use the name to profit (parking, affiliate marketing, etc.) in any of the categories for which the name has been trademarked.
I think you have the right idea. If you're not sure, steer clear.

What is the possibility of selling it to the same company without using it ?

Zero.

Higher probability of being dragged in udrp suit

Whoa Nelly...whoa!!! Now, this is just my limited opinion and so it doesn't count for much lol and I am not a Lawyer, either a Divorce Lawyer or a Trademark Lawyer.

Isn't the first principle of a UDRP to prove that the domain name has been registered in bad faith. If this particular name is used to encourage others to buy this product and teaches others how to use this company's technology and promotes this company in a positive light and attracts thousands of users, then we could argue that this domain name was not registered in bad faith.

I may be wrong and I'm still learning but maybe others who are more used to fighting UDRP cases or do indeed who may know the relevant laws can correct me if I am wrong.

There would surely be less influencers and unboxers if this was the case. We would not have fan pages for sports clubs or teams and favorite film icons.

I look forward to an honest and balanced debate.

Who wants to take this domain, of course it will be used to bring many customers to this brand to use its products, and this will benefit the company.

In this case the subject who buy this domain is you.

And if you try to make money from it, including try to sell it to Lenovo, that means you register it in bad faith.

I was talking in general about the topic and not about this domain

Come on. This is a blatant TM infringing domain.
Delete it. Move on. Register better domains.

Of course a registrar will recommend you buy a domain, that's their business, thats how they make money. It's up to the individual to learn what they can and cannot register and research about trademarks. Just delete it and take it as a lesson learnt, it's worthless.
