Hi there, I am considering selling this domain which I have owned for many years now.

The idea behind this site would be a social networking site where Investors and Entrepreneurs could meet.

Entrepreneurs could create profiles of potential projects or business ideas they are looking to raise money for. They upload video presenations, photos and schematics to sell their ideas.

Investors could have a wide range of ideas to browse for investment opportunities. Projects could range from land development, Internet ventures to even a fundraising section.

Investors alike could also create profiles with guidelines of what types of projects and ideas they want more info on.

The potential for this domain is enormous.

I would like a fair appraisal for what this domain would likely be worth in the marketplace. THanks for your time

I think depending on the buyer you can get more, but considering the name/age/extension/popularity of the term etc. I wouldn't let go of that name for cheaper than $30,000. Of course it's just my opinion.Does it get a lot of traffic? Obviously with traffic it has more value

$30K? Even after it is developed it wouldn't be worth $30K in random dollars. Social networking sites, are more brandable, with shorter names, rather than the actual keywords, you are looking at significant dollars to convert users to a working site, which case your investment would easily exceed $30k...

If you are the original owner, a good gauge is how many offers you have had over the last 9 years, and the extent of those offers, it doesn't always work, but if you have not had any offers during this period, you have to do a realistic check of the domain, and make sure you are not emotionally invested into it to much.

I agree on random dollars and social networking sites, but the buyer might have his own ideas on how to use the name, which is more than likely will be far from social networking, something similar to TargetedInvestmentProjects.com or ArizonaInvestmentProjects.com to name a few.

Now to the offers: if you see currently this domain is a simple redirect, so many people wouldn't even bother making an offer. And even if they will the fact that 3 lowballers offered $50 for my name doesn't mean it's worth that much:hehe:

That is before we will take into account that all the major extensions of this name is taken and even developed, the fact that it is a financial term domain in .com extension, age etc.

So still, I'll stick with what I think.

#30k? I think your slightly off there.

InvestmentProject.com is for sale for $3,588

InvestmentProject.org is for sale for $1,688

InvestmentProject.net is for sale for $795

Investment-Projects.com is for sale for $788

And these are "For Sale" prices, not sold prices.

$30k might have been obtainable back in the good ole days, but not today. Not even close.

No way is it worth 30K, only the net, org and biz are taken.

I would take a low to mid x,xxx offer on this name

I agree. This domain is nowhere in the market of $30,000 and is likely just barely in the market for low $x,xxx.

I say this because there is little demand for this key word project. Does it sound professional for a financial institution to have a name called "investment projects?" Wouldn't an end user prefer a better keyword than projects, something more specific? When I invest and I do daily I would never look for "projects" and I would immediately be skeptical of a site by that name trying to sell me stock or securities.

That said there is some market because the combination of keywords at least sounds reasonable when vocalizing it and because of the length of time you have held it. Social networking is likely out as has been already stated, brandability will come first and foremost, certainly shorter. Perhaps someone would buy it as a redirect if it had some traffic.

I hope this helps. You could try advertising it on stock trading forums, forex forums, HYIP websites etc. but I doubt you will receive offers over $xxx if anyone is interested. It is a nice name and I wish you the best.
