I could live perfectly well without hip hop. I think it gets too much air time in detriment to other types of music. I like Blues, Jazz, Brazilian music, romantic music and some good old rock.

I think hip hop is an art form when its done right. Hip hop is street poetry. Hip Hop is an expression of ones life experiences. Just as some choose to express there pain in the form of country music or the blues.

While I respect it as a form of art, I find it gets way too much airtime in comparison to other styles of music.

Hip hop is pretty much all I listen to and I listen to music pretty much all day. The problem is most people dont realise that what you hear on the radio or see on the tv etc. is not real hip hop. For some reason people buy 50 cent's music just because he got shot 9 times,its apparently cool to get shot 9 times and not shoot back now. Or they buy Soulja Boy cause he has a song that repeats the same thing over and over again so people dont have to do any thinking when listening to it. Or the buy songs from one of the many rappers using autotune because the computer gives them a 'cool' voice.

I think a lot of the people who dont like what they think hip hop is would like real hip hop.
