No. Com has made its place as king of the TLD's.
I just do not see this changing.

No chance. COM has had 20+ years to establish it's place, and is not going anywhere anytime soon.

In my opinion, for the next 10 -15 years .com will get stronger and the value will increase. The new tld's will slowly become more accepted and common. Eventually, the search engines will start to respect these tld's and businesses will be able to purchase any number of tlds and have a decent chance of ranking. Then fewer people will pay an insane premium for a .com when a dot xxx will perform just as well.

I agree that the search engines will start accepting the new tld's more, but com will remain king, as it is already embedded in everyones mind... when you type a domain name it is almost instinct to add the .com

I think that .com domain will still be the top domain although we have many new domain names recently.

Soon there will be custom TLDs as ICANN open even more.

They are working hard to regulate domains as well as make more available by the means of adding TLD options.

new or "custom" TLDs, for those that could afford them, are basically for novelty or company use. They will be too expensive for the average person. If "custom" TLDs where made avaliable at an affordable rate that would not do much more than overpopulate the market with a bunch of worthless domains, thus making .com even more valuable in the long run.

.com will remain king for the next 20 years at the least. The more TLD's come along the more confusing the internet will be and people will just refer back to the no1 .com

The .com is daddy; no chance of anything else beating it.

I don't think anyone who has posted with such strong opinions here is a market analyst or a prophet.

Considering how much the world has changed in even just the past few years, let alone the past few decades, I think anything is possible.

I also can think of a few .TLDs that would definitely destroy .com, were they ever introduced.

Stop living in denial, .travel is the future. Who is this dot com you speak of?

Right, Imagine if .web or .shop or .net were introduced. Why would anyone use .com? It would collapse quickly as most large companies changed to the newer, cooler Internet. Ring the printers boys, those business cards need to read "amazon.web".

For me .com was the best, .com is the best and .com will be the best amongst all the domain extensions. .com is the unique TLD and very hard to beat by its extensions. So it is but obvious, if you ask anyone they will say .com for sure

Everyone knows .Bowling will take over where .COM left off. LOL

Some of the people who think everything is going to instantly change are going to be sadly mistaken.

.COM will always be the king.
HOWEVER, I believe that .COM will lose its value over time due to the release of numerous TLDs and dilution of .com and search engine utilization.

No. I do not think so, .com will loose its value. .com is unique and will never ever loose its value.
