Hello everyone, I am starting up an online bussiness (Designing and Selling Websites) and i dont know if i need a very small dedicated server, vps, or a good sized reseller. I need it to host my site, and all of the sites i make for my clients. I am thinking a small, 20 gb hd 25-100 gb bw dedicated server. I am wanting to pay around $100-$200 Cad (canadian money) a year. I want a GOOD host, professional host with good uptime, 24/7 support, and owned by people who have been in the bussiness for along time so they know what there doing.

What would you buy? A very small dedicated server, or reseller account?

I would start with a reliable reseller plan and then if things work out well you could always upgrade to your own dedicated solution. I'm not sure on your experience with servers but if you jump right into a dedicated or vps you will have to have experience with security and hardware upgrades where with a reseller you can just use cpanel/whm to get started and let the provider worry about the technical aspects. I guess it depends on your experience. If you need any recommendations on providers for reseller or dedicated hit me up by p.m.

Reseller would be a good start if you want to sell hosting.

That's not really much, I'm sure you can find a reseller with those specs for a low price :tu: Try sites like www.site5.com

For a $100-$200 candian money a year you won't be able to get a dedicated server. The main difference for you between a reseller and a VPS would be the management of it. If you are not a server admin and you prefer not to worry about your hosting then get a reseller unless you need the extra freedom/cpu/space/bandwith. A very good reseller that I use now is http://www.hostingzoom.com and if you do use a reseller then you should try them out.
