What direction should I take my forum in?

Hello everyone,

I am sure half of you have heard about Bodzo by now? If not please check out the TOPIC HERE..

I have started a forum for Bodzo, which is targeted at webmasters, developers and designers. The problem is... I am having second thoughts about targeting this audience and whether or not I should take a more generalized approach.

The reason I am asking this is because Bodzo can be used by anyone to help them find what they need but it is also aimed at individuals and businesses looking to increase their exposure on the internet.

So I am stuck in two minds about what direction to take the forum in? Currently it has been up for 2 days and I have had hardly any traffic what so ever, even though the Bodzo home page has had a few hundred. This makes me think users aren't interested in signing up to the forum?

I would appreciate your input on this matter. :tu:

Regards,

Dave

As I mentioned in chat. You should keep in mind who you are trying to target the forums too. Making the forum too generalized you may scare off those who you are trying to actually target.

2 days is really not long enough to expect results. You should give it longer and find ways to generate traffic. As well as natural ways to generate interest you should also look at possibly running competitions or other similar methods to get people on the site.

Thank you for your input Peter. I am thinking about running a contest but not sure what would be the best kind to attract the majority of users? Anyone have any thoughts on this? :red:

it really depends on budget. If you have a big budget or can partner with someone then software could be good considering the market otherwise things like domain reg's or hosting etc maybe desirable
