LoveGod.mobi and ILoveGod.mobi

I vote for the mighty "Tessler" as the Forbes #1 Dot Mobi Portfolio in the World!

Unless I am missing someone, I have seen his name pop up countless times searching for super domains since September 26 - I wonder how many Dot Mobis this boss has ;)

Hes got tons, the most, of keywordVideo .mobis.. just type one in and you might see him.

Best wishes!

Kind Regards,

Yelo

Nice group of names MobiMaven, welcome aboard. Any development plans or are you strictly looking to resell?
Thanks, Scandiman. I'm thinking of developing some of the US city mobis, but would certainly entertain any offers. Most if not all of the foreign language domains are for resale.

nope, that was me.

looks like he bought his a week after landrush for $60 each..

Correct--I have 109 of the 676 possible L-L combinations. I beleive mjnels has about 270+, which could turn out to be a really smart buy on his part...

No kidding -- if L-L.mobis end up being seen as the LL.com counterpart and even begin to approach that level of value, you guys are going to do soooo well... :lala:

Unfortunately those were held back by the good folks at mTLD in the "reserved" group of names. I spoke (actually e-mailed) with an mTLD employee who told me that they were hoping to release some of the reserved names if their contract with ICANN permitted it. I bet if/when any of these "reserved" names are released they will be sold the same way a lot of the "premium" names are--at a TRAFFIC auction or with an RFP, a big deposit and an even bigger pricetag. Either way, I'm guessing that they would be way out of my neighborhood.

Good luck, and if you are really serious, I would recommend contacting mTLD directly.

that list doesnt really mean anything... its just a few people from the forums..

unless you participated in landrush or bought many domains on the aftermarket, theres a slim chance you'd be able to compete.

Yeah, I dun too sure about it even I bought many domains on the aftermarket. Need to judge by others not myself, right!!

Better to not be on the list...

Once you start getting a rep for yourself, some people start holding you for ransom (xxxxx offers on health .mobis AHHHH!!!) :'(

I'm guessing that you decided that hyphens are not the best thing to have in a .mobi domain? - I tend to agree - I regged a few hyphenated ones & then decided that they wouldn't be too popular.

Have you sold a whole load of your other .mobis too? or have you maintained / built your portfolio?
(I have around 1,300 now - 2nd & 3rd rate by comparison to the better premiums but I'm pleased with at least half of them - which means that I'll be ok as long as the whole .mobi market develops with the mobile internet (I'd like to say 'how can it possibly not?' but I guess that would be niaive :?

I wonder how many decent size portfolios there are out there? - I'd always assumed that there must be 100's of 4 figure portfolios and that they would account for a large part of the total number regged to date (on the basis that if people are going to register .mobi domains before the mobile internet gathers pace they must be speculators rather than end users (by & large with exceptions of course)

I've been shopping around & just got my reg fee down to £3.50 GBP (& not just for a limited period!) but I cannot say where I got that deal from or I'll lose it! -
& Boy, that would be a bummer - I've spent enough at the higher rates to earn my discount! :'(

So, who's still actively adding to their portfolios then!?

Regards

Gary

it depends.. basically i just had too many and didnt want to renew them all... so sold the rest to another mobi'er for a fair price.. also a couple months before i did that, the San Francisco Union-Tribune newspaper called me up and wanted to buy U-T.mobi... theyre the 25th largest newspaper in the usa in terms of circulation. they bought it for 3k and the site is live now..

sometimes i wonder if i didnt do the L-L/N-N buyout if most of em would still be available to register..

i have about 1,100 mobee's but will be consolidating before renewal time to hopefully 500 or below.. at one time i owned (thanks to a fellow member here) 1/20 of the NNN.mobi registry and sold all those months ago for market rate..

adding to your .mobi portfolios now with new registrations is still possible.. but the pool of names is sooooo much smaller than the September 26-the end of October timeframe.. this was the point of time where most people were focusing only on extremely obvious mobile relevant names, especially during those few days in september where i handregged names like LiveVideos, Advertisers, BankAccount, GPSnavigation, etc etc.. it was easy to pass up names that i would take now, because when money is falling from the sky you reach for the $1,000 bills and the $500 bills, and maybe some $100's.... but the $50's, $20's, $10's, $5's, $1's and pennies fell by the wayside... they had too.. or id have a credit card bill and 50,000 mediocre names saved up..

Top Dot Mobi Portfolios

Here are some of the better domains that I have in the 500 listed on my website. I am also taking a punt on keyword-rich dashed domains in highly mobi-centric markets like broadcasting, phones, gambling and stockmarket as their ar so many businesses out there and too few non-dashed domains to go around. The .mobi search engines will pick them up and when they go into the mobile bookmarks they will never have to be types in again. Address bar type-ins will be a thing of the past in the next 5 years as search engine use is becoming the norm rather than the exception.

What is your comment on these and the others on the website?

I tend to agree that the argument about .coms being valuable for "traffic" will eventually come to an end. Far fewer people (myself included) type names in the address bar now when we can have our homepage set to Google...

However, this does not discount the fact that great names will still be of immense value. The reason for this is that Google greatly favors relevant domains for SEO. So your ClubXXX.mobi will rank a whole lot better for the keywords "club" and "xxx" than say my antioxidants.mobi, even if we both made xxx club sites out of them. Makes sense really -- wouldn't a real enduser choose a relevant name to what they're selling, promoting, providing, etc ?

Watch your back on this one, they defend the brand with a vengeance.

As for direct navigation, I think it will still happen quite a bit as people want to go directly to a site they have heard of, such as bofa.mobi, aaa.mobi etc. If carriers or mobile browsers block out direct navigation I think consumers will be frustrated. But no doubt in my mind that search will be a big part of the mobile web, that's why I'm fond of solid keyword or geo domains.

I know it was reported earlier, but when I went to my BofA branch today, they literally have all of their posters and signs promoting BofA.mobi (see below).

pretty cool....

I think this mobi thing has some huge potential. I cant wait to see more big players doing the same as Bofa. When that happens we're talking big $$$ around here. Thanks for the post.
