When someone speaks of buying keyword domains site development and then selling the site, Im still not sure what they are talking about.
Most keyword domains for sale are not developed. Some will put some lead capture page on them specifically for what the domain is about. True keyword domains are expensive and still in most cases underpriced.
Ok, so "keyword domains" are about the traffic. Makes sense. And Im assuming this is traffic that just types the keyword in the search bar and lands on the website. Does this still happen? I cant remember the last time I typed in a keyword (or words) and went directly to a site. Are we talking about old people that dont know how to use the internet?
In these days dotcom keyword domains are not sold because of the traffic they get, they sell because the savings a company will have on marketing, branding and seo is potentially priceless. Good ones are expensive so you rarely see them sell. About a year ago HealthInsurance .com sold for 8 million.
Think of the keyword type in potential more like this: You know how you can just type a word into the URL (not search) bar and you dont have to type the .com and you still get to that keyword .com? Thats the very high level of the potential, inherent, value of a keyword & in really valuable keyword that happens a lot. I hope that made sense? Good Luck All, Brian.
