Howdy Yall!

My name is Clint ... and I'm from Cape Town, South Africa (Google it, the home of natural wonders and the cradle of mankind, it's a great place to live).

I am a total novice at domaining. Stumbled across Fippa.com less than a year ago, immediately got ahead of myself and splurged on what I thought (at the time) was brilliant dot-coms, but soon learnt what is probably the most basic rules of the game: (1) stay away from lengthy, non-english & made-up words, and (2) do not infringe on another's trademark. The lesson cost me a few thousand rand ($1 = R15) because I wanted to secure the dot-com along with 5 sub-premium tld's as well as additional variations of the original dot-com and their sub-premium tld's. I still feel like kicking myself thinking about it, maybe because it's still too fresh of an experience.

My hast-in-desperation caused me to step back for a while in hopes of learning and researching the industry at a very slow pace (kinda like part-time) but it's hard refraining in lieu of the quantity and value of sales being concluded each day. So, after recently reading an article on Zandibot.com (the 8 week flipping challenge) I was introduced to NP and am yet to list my first domain.

I still have so many lessons to learn as I constantly find myself buying more and more domains that I believe is valuable (all while researching and learning from the industry). So I've decided to embark on a journey of erasing my blunders and starting from scratch, hoping to let-go of my almost 100 domains acquired thus far. My new plan is to invest strictly in quality demand-based domains ie. one and two word dot-org and dot-com domains. I Plan to list my domains soon, ignoring my personal opinion on what I believe their values to be.

I'd like to look back at my NP intro within the next year, with a few premium one-word dot-com domains in my pocket and several successful sales under my belt. I know it's possible because people are doing it every single day, in both big and small amounts.

I am also hoping to test your (more experienced domainers) knowledge and lend from your experiences during my continued stages of growth - I now consider myself an official full-time student.

And in the long-term, I hope to build mutually beneficial relationships stemming from this awesome platform.

Please expect a lot of questions and requested opinions in months to come, I'm really looking forward to communicating more.

Regards
Clint.
