So as my child looks to get married in the next year or two, naturally I started thinking about a website for the wedding. I know this is not specifically about domaining, but is an interesting and related topic.

As some of you may know, it's all the rage these days to do a wedding website using a domain like (first name)and(first name).com...however, that means there are few of these domains available.

Which of the following options do you think would be best when that option is already taken:

1. MrandMrsXXX.com - I like this choice, but of course the downside is that non-techies will type it Mr.andMrs.XXX.com and needless to say, won't make it to the site.

2. (First name)and(first name).net/org/other tld. - I think it's an okay option, but again, many non-techies will simply type in .com and never make it to the site.

3. (First name)and(first name)YEAR.com - An okay option, but of course it would make the site seem outdated in the future if the couple wanted to keep it updated with births, vacations, etc.

Which do you like best? Or what do you think? Any other options you can think of?

Thanks for offering a different option. Although at 25-30+ characters, I think it might be getting a bit too long.

I like 3. These are normally throw away type sites that couples never keep so don't worry about it becoming outdated.

Interesting topic :) I liked second one. How about a tweak; <MaleFirstName>weds<FemaleFirstName>.com/net/PICS etc. :shy:

Thanks. The only downside I could see though with this would be the same as using the year in the domain...If the couple wanted to keep the site active after the wedding, such as to document a new baby or a vacation they take...or to otherwise document their life after marriage, using something more generic like (first name)and(first name) or MrandMrs, would let them do that. Using the word wed or wedding or the year, it kind of limits the site to only being about the wedding itself, so it kind of restricts the future use.

So I'm still leaning towards MrandMrsXXX.com. Any other thoughts?
