how does putting links to other sites in my website affect my rankings, seo, traffic ?

will it help or cause trouble?

what would be acceptable number of links before i get "penalise " by search engines

should i just put the name like this

namepros.com or like www.namepros.com?? :cy:

Ok, first, putting links on your website will only help you if they link to your pages most links will not hurt, but google may penalize you if you link to porn or warez or something. second, although there is not a set amount of links allowed, i think most search engines acceptable range is 50-100, but dont go over 100 because than your site will look like a link farm. third, it doesnt matter how you link it, but you may want to make it like Namepros because it looks better, but it doesnt matter how you link. as i know , linking to other sites affects your ranking if the sites you're linking to have a smaller ranking.....
and is true that too many links makes your site looking like a linking farm , which is penalized....
