Can someone please explain?

Once I have made a website how do I go about getting Alexa ranks, page ranks, incoming links, archive.org? What are the best deals for getting listed with search engines?

If there is a good website with lots of information on this please let me know.

I have HD-V.com (high definition video), which I am currently developing & parking (Already gets around 10 hits per day). Dont really want to sell it, thats why the price is so high. How can I get more hits? I also have hdvgames.com & loads more.

To get Alexa Ranks, Page Ranks, Incoming Links you will have to have traffic and quality traffic. The more traffic and the more times your site is on other sites (And people click your site) the better ranks.

To get your site listed, do a quick google search for "Search engine listings", that should bring a site up where you just enter your site and it automaticly submits it.

To be listed on Archive.org you can't do anything, it's one of those automaticly programs. It will just take time, but you will have to have some kind of page active.

Hope it helps. :)

Thanks for explaining Fewski, very simple!
I also wanted to know once I have created my site in e.g. Dreamweaver how do I get it online? & Is there any free software that is easy to use?
I have a 30 day trial with dreamweaver & have made a basic site but I'd rather not buy it. I'm running on mac osx???

Go into your hosting account and if your they're using cPanel, there will be an icon and link that says "File Manager" click that, and there should be another screen. Looks for the text that says "www" next to the folder, click the folder, not the text. Toward the top link there should be something that says "Upload Files" click that, and upload your files.

They will now be on your site. Make sure you name your file you want everyone to see when they see your site "index.htm" or "index.html".
