The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

For a new forum, you have way too many categories. Also, try getting a custom skin made [or make one yourself..].

1. Use less categories. for a start-up forum you need 4-5 categories not more. As soon as you develop, you can expand

Here's my category "list" when starting a new forum

1. The nameofyoursite community
- Say Hello (introductory forums)
- General chat (off topics)
- Announcements and feedback

2. "Specialized talk" (about the main topic of the site)
- General issues regarding the topic (from this I expand other categories when needed

2. Work on that theme. You are using a stock phpBB theme. Modify it or pay someone to make it look unique

3. Install some hacks on it to have many other features.

4. Start MANY threads and even do some post exchanges at first to start up.

Keep up the work and best of luck :)

Give people a reason to use your forum. Put some money into it and you'll start to see results.

A lot of people join namepros because its not only a great community where they can get their questions answered and sell their domain names, but they can earn currency to put towards domain registrations and the like. I've seen a fair number of failed fourms that try the "giveaway" at specific points in their infancy. They fail for a reason. Because the users are not constantly getting back what they put into it.
