okay folks,
I'm a complete novice when it comes to web designing. I need some help and tips for things which I feel are very simple for anyone with a little bit of web designing experience:

1. Fonts for logos: Do you design your own fonts using photoshop when you want to use them in a logo, or do you get ready made fonts, and use them ? For instance, let's say you want a particular word to appear in a logo, how do you do that ?

2. If you do use ready made fonts, do you add them to photoshop (add in the sense .... install it) or something else ?

Let's take an example ..... let's say I want a logo for a site, and I want the logo to use calligraphic fonts (Elizabethan style) ... where do I get such fonts? and how do I use it ... do I import it into photoshop... ?

Thanks for any and all help. :)

I use pre-made fonts, mainly gathered from font sites such as www.dafont.com, www.abstractfonts.com and www.1001freefonts.com.

To install the fonts, all you have to do is simply place the .ttf file in the C:\Windows\Fonts directory and the font is then ready to be used in all programs - not just Photoshop - all programs with text input facilities.

Hope that helped :)
