Important ICANN Notice Regarding Your Domain Name(s)
****************************** ***********

Dear User,

it is that time of year again. ICANN(the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) annually requires that all accredited registrars (like GoDaddy.com) ask their domain administrators/registrants to review domain name contact data, and make any changes necessary to ensure accuracy. According to our records you are the ADMINISTRATIVE CONTACT for one or more domains registered at GoDaddy.com, Inc. as of October 1st, 2010.

To review/update your Account data, simply:
+ Login to https://dcc.godaddy.com/ default.aspx?isc=ICANN0908a& amp;ci=8987
+ You will be taken to a landing page and asked to enter your account information
Please take a look that your account and domain information is up to date.

If, however, your domain contact information is inaccurate, you must correct it. (Under ICANN rules and the terms of your registration agreement, providing false contact information can be grounds for domain name cancellation.) To review the ICANN policy, visit:http://www.icann.org/ whois/wdrp-registrant-faq.htm

Should you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] or call our customer support line at (480) 505-8877.

Thanks for your attention and thank you for being a GoDaddy.com, Inc. customer.

Sincerely,
GoDaddy.com, Inc. Domain Support

If you are the domain administrator of more than one GoDaddy.com domain account, you may receive this notice multiple times.

When are companies going to start getting tough on these people once and for all?

Yeah, I am getting sick of this type of stuff.

They need to drop the hammer on these type of scammers. These type of scams are criminal and need to be treated that way.

There is no accountability even when the scammer is known. I mean look at the Halvarez scandal. How is he not in jail?

I received this email also once or twice recently and I didnt do anything with it as I got it while I was working via my blackberry and I forgot to check it out when I got home from work. Just remember not to click links of emails that you are not familiar with. Good catch on GoDadody , I did not notice that in the email on my phone and thought it was actually an important matter.

Shoot. I may have fallen for this... dammit. I changed my security information anyway.

Thanks for posting. It's always a good reminder to log onto a secure machine and change my passwords more than occasionally :)

But Good EYE!

Repped because it helped me this time... maybe ;)

I hope you also posted this to GoDaddy as well. They need to know also. So they can take steps to shut these people down.

already done that and even got a reply

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting online support.

We understand the concerns about phishing and other scams that may try to impersonate Go Daddy to obtain your personal data or sensitive account information. To address these concerns we have placed a page on our website to help you determine if correspondence you receive is actually being sent from Go Daddy:

โ€ข The REAL Go Daddy

This may help you differentiate whether communication that appears to be coming from Go Daddy is genuine or not. Please also feel free to contact us directly using the following information if you have any further questions:

Email: [email protected]
Phone: 480-505-8877

GoDaddy.com has recently sent an email to all domain registrants asking for verification of domain contact information. ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) requires all registrars to do so each year.

We will be sending these notices over the next month, so if any of your domains are not listed, you will receive an email for these domains in the coming month. To proceed, please click the link that was sent in the ICANN email or paste the URL into your browser to verify your information.

***Please note that you do not need to do anything if your information is correct.***

If you are unable to proceed through the link in the email and are unable to see the ICANN link at the bottom of our home page, please use the link that I have included below to insert your Domain Information Key from the email.

ICANN Domain Confirmation Page

In the event that you can not enter the key, please follow the directions below to make sure your contact information is up to date, and to make any necessary changes:

โ€ข Select 'Domain Manager' from the 'My Products' menu.
โ€ข Check the box next to the domain(s) you wish to modify.
โ€ข Click the 'Contact' button from the menu above.
โ€ข Make the appropriate changes to each contact (click on the necessary tab to modify information).
โ€ข Click on the 'Ok' button to save changes.

Note:
Changes to the settings of a domain can take an average of 48 hours due to the number of networks involved. These networks are controlled by many different entities and are updated independently. This being the case, updates to your contact information can take up to 48 hours to appear on a WHOIS listing for this domain name.

Please let us know if we can help you in any other way.

Sincerely,
Dave P

That's for the heads up. I received a couple of these email as well and they look pretty legit. There are times that I almost click on it but realized that they were fake links after analyzing it closely.

Usually I even receives such mails in the inbox folder not in junk folder along with domain/domains with ICANN verification no. Also those ICANN links take in to verification page not to login page.

SCAM site

This is a SCAM site, not the real Godaddy.

The scam site is godadody, NOT Godaddy.

Always pays to look carefully at the domain name; otherwise you could end up as a victim of fraud.

I would like to add that godaddy.com isn't really a good domain provider since they will drop your site if you have any jealous competitors from ONE complaint!

While I may agree with your assessment, this is NOT a Godaddy complaint thread.

This is a complaint/warning look-alike clone domain scam thread.
