Well, I had acquired this domain name about 2 months back through Snap. I felt like I got it for a steel. I just noticed that today on Sedo, the domain name w0r.com just sold for $500...

How do you think that will factor into potential sales value on this name?

I like the name, would be good for some sort of gaming site. I could see it going for high xxx or more if someone loved it.

wor means nothing.
won means something.

If w0r.com can sell for $500, I certainly hope w0n.com could get more. I don't know how you "got a steal" on it, since people on snap have been going nuts lately on three character .com's. Good pickup.

Me either - I was expecting the price to sky rocket, but just no one bid in the end. I figured the same with w0r.com - if he just scored a nice $500 payday, I should be able to top that with current market conditions. I had initially asked for a $750 BIN - but I think if I just sit back, it may just kick over the 1k mark.

Thanks Jorge.

Hey Justin. I think its good, but that $500 sale may be an abheration that meant something to one person just like any otheracronym. Are there other comps?

w0r.com is the closest in nature, its off by 1 letter. Other comparables starting with the letter W:

w1a.com $161 2007-03-28 SnapNames
wn3.com $160 2007-03-28 SnapNames
wn4.com $180 2007-03-28 SnapNames
wn9.com $160 2007-03-28 SnapNames
w9l.com $123 2007-03-17 Sedo

Its a challenge - yours is a visual, while those are likely some sort of acronym or abbreviation...

I like it a lot, but its hard to value

The ones above are falling under the CCC.com pricing. Which is around $150 bucks wholesale. Mine obviously has the "WON" working for it. The real question is why did someone purcahse w0r.com in auction.... that will definetly get my question answered.

They paid that, and then parked it. That's a great sign - it may not in fact have been some random end user who has a specific and valuable reason.

Im not sure if possession has been taken of the domain name... I only know that they won it at Sedo.... so - we'll see...

I do not have any insightful statistical or documentary commentary to add to this evaluation; nonetheless, I feel that the value in this domain is simply obvious. I would not consider selling for less than $1,000.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

I would value it at mid $xxx to right buyer, about 350 range resale. I used to own w0n.net but sold that for mid $xx and got it for reg fee, hehe. :)

I've seen 3char com's gone for alot on snapnames lately.

Heres a few:
k6a.com -> $250
s8g.com -> $200
34x.com -> $905
ji9.com -> $220
g5s.com -> $370
t9f.com -> $250

These are from the past few days, from 19th to 24th. As you can see yourself, the average price is above $220 and it will continue to rise ;).

Im not sure what the exact value is on your domain, not that anyone is anyway, but im sure you can get between $300 to $500 when thinking resale, to the end user you never know.

Good luck, i've been buying CCC/LLL domains like crazy lately ;).

I have a few of these and I keep watch for them at the auction houses if they ever are cheap, but Ive focused more on pronounceable LLLL.com's - returns seem to be better AND realistic potential for end-users... Unlikely an end-user is going to want CCC.com's, right now there still "novelty".

True, but theres alot of domainers that just want to own one, and in the end, only collectors have them, and the prices will automaticly go to the roof. IMO anyway. When I first buy a domain, I hold it, if it has value I hold it until I get a offer I cant refuse. hehe :).

I agree, which is exactly why I have a couple, but bottom line - who do u wanna sell to, end-users or domainers? =)
