ooooh, I'm interested in this... what's the difference between a paid and free compiler? Do you think the paid ones have more newbie options, tips, "wysiwyg" type help (such as insert > combobox)? Or maybe the free ones are only like notepad, but they save it as a program?

Also, are compilers kind of like an installation of visual basic? Or do you have to intall it seperately, then get a program to make it... into a program?

Also, what's so special about Visual Basic.net?

I have Visual Basic CD with me, but I guess it'd be illegal to share it with others.

Yep it will be illegal as Microsoft wants us to pay money to use their software 8-X , there really are alot of of Compilers that are free i googled them and i personally found 1 :D

Well, technically, to burn a cd is wrong, but there are still disputes about burning/downloading. People think it's stealing, but it's not technically stealing. Here's dictionary.com's definition of stealing:
Steal: To take (the property of another) without right or permission.
Well, in this case, you're not "taking" it, because the person who you got it from still has the original object. Yes, I understand that people would go out and buy the program instead of copying it, but it's not exactly "stealing." Which is why there are still disputes :)

Now don't start getting angry with me lol; I was just saying the opinions of the "disputers," just to make things interesting :)
