Viewing .ASF Files

For some reason, each time i open an .asf file in Windows Media Player, I keep getting a codec error.. I have tried looking in Google but i can't find anything to make .asf files viewable in windows media player..

Does anyone know anywhere i can get any codecs to make .asf files viewable in WMP?

OR

Does anyone know any programs that are especially for the viewing of .asf files?

Go to www.download.com and type .asf in the search box. You'll find lots of applications that will play .asf.

Or simpler, goto google type in ace mega codecs download the latest you can find, that will supply you with codecs to watch anything you could ever want!

UPDATE

- I found BS Player on Download.com but i still get an error when I try to open an .asf file something about direct draw..

- I also found Ace Mega Codecs but it's 49MB which will take quite a while to download on 56 K
