I don't think so, If google bought an extension then it doesn't matter its better, Google bought .xyz because they didn't get desire extension.

Three Character .net domains worth minimum $500 but .xyz doesn't worth registration price.

Most of the recent reported sales of .xyz, with english words, are in the low $xxx range. I would say, at best, you can get mid $xx, maybe in the french market because of the word.
