Validation.com is a website that offers a paid client document management (CDM) GDPR-compliant software service designed and implemented by the NC Labs, the R&D arm of Namecheap Inc., a well-known ICANN-accredited domain name registrar, and technology company founded in 2000 by CEO Richard Kirkendall.

The service, which is based upon a patent-pending method, claims to enhance KYC protocol, prevent friendly and deliberate fraud, chargebacks, and stop account takeovers through a unique step-up customer ID "proof of possession" challenge procedure.
The main goal of validation.com's service is to validate customers and not just their documents
(i.e., to validate both the person and the ID being submitted).
Validation.com's issued whitepaper outlines the implementation of a fraud prevention system against higher-risk transactions, age-restricted sales, and customer onboarding in general.

Setting up validation is claimed to be fast and easy, with no additional resources or technical training required for fraud teams. Account owners will be able to submit their ID documents for your team to review, as long as they have access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera. No apps or downloads are required for your users to submit documents, meaning low customer friction.

As a business owner interested in integrating validation.com's fraud prevention system into your transaction flow, you can request a demo after filling in a request form on the validation.com website. The integration is done via a modular API whether your transaction flow is product-based business or merchant operation: product-selected, trigger-based, or based on risk scoring from other systems after a sale.

As a user, you can also protect your identity via validation.com if you’ve been asked to submit your ID to a company with which you are unfamiliar.

The service is said to suit e-commerce, domains, online auctions, online gaming, car rentals, financial institutions, luxury goods, vacation rentals, and many others; targeting big or small businesses, and sole traders.

In case you want to register with their service, you may want to check their Pricing, read the Services Agreement, the Privacy Policy, the Data Processing Agreement (GDPR), and the FAQ sections.

It's to be noted that Namecheap, the company behind validation.com, offered exclusive early-bird access savings for its brand new online ID authentication tool via its official website which ended at the time of writing.
The new launched validation-based service is labeled "Chargeback Prevention" in the Security tab of their website.
