Using popunders at Namedrive

Personally I hate popunders but it is a feature available
Is it best to use does this increase revenue?

I only get a few clicks here and there. I hate to say it, but visitors to your namedrive parking page aren't really going to be coming back to your site, so from a earnings standpoint, it may be a good option for you to at least try. If overall revenue goes down though, it's probably because people hate popups as much as the rest of us, so they might just be clicking the back button before even looking at your parking page.

Well popunders do not count for all your visits
Probably only for the countries there are advertisers
If you have international traffic i don't think it will help (of course i wonder what does it help with the decreasing rates of namedrive the last months, month the people i know left their service)

I have found that using popups or popunders on parking pages has always reduced click through rates on my domains.

I've never agreed but for the reason that ginge brought up I have refused to use it. I get annoyed when 2 or three things pop up on a parked page.

After closing the pop-ups the user will probably press back.

Personally, I hate 'em - so I don't allow them for any of my landers. My 'customer' didn't target that sh*t, so why should they get it.

I'm not the 999,999 visitor; I don't want to jump through hoops of fire to get a free plasma; and I couldn't give a feck about Paul McCartney's marriage...

Look at your lander as a mini Google page - I reckon that the better the experience a surfer gets through direct navigation, the more chance there is of that person coming across another of my landers in the future.

If one thing does more harm to direct nav, it's gotta be effing pop-ups/unders...

Seriously, you're parking to generate revenue! Pop ups are another way of adding to your earnings.
I put as many pop ups(well pop unders as they don't distract from the ads being displayed) as I can on my parked domains. I couldn't careless if the visitors want them there or not.
If I wanted a site without pop ups, I'd build a mini-site or something else. Even then I'd still put a pop under from a good CPM network that allows you to control the theme of the pop under being displayed to match the site.

Bottomline is the total revenue, never mind CTR or RPC. The only stats I would care to look at are RPM and of course Total revenue.

I agree that you should look at the whole picture, but a lot of people sell names based on that name's individual revenue, so whilst overall earnings are undoubtedly the most imprtant statistic with your parking program, a potential buyer of a traffic name may not see it that way. I have turened mine off, which has meant slightly less monthly rev at nd (~$15), but I believe the stats are better on individual domains now, so this is an advantage when selling.

As far as I got it right. Popunders are only working with US traffic. Or somehow US names get much more popunders revenue then European.

Interesting thread. I have popups blocked on my own computer but had them enabled on Namedrive. Average CPM is around 1.60 for them overall (ie it wont kill me to lose the revenue) so I disabled them today to see if the CTR for domains will increase.

I have popunder on and off depending on the domain category (Sedo). I think they not affect your main CTR because those are "under". The user only see ot when close the window.

Well one day of trying it disabled and my CTR is up around 2%. At an average CPC of 0.15, that works out to more than the rev from the popunders. (About $1.50 CPM more) I'll leave it off for a full week and let you guys know what happens. Maybe one day fluke!
