Hi folks,
i'm currently having to show proof of my savings to get authorization for something, and i was wondering how you go about including a domain portfolio in something like that.

obviously accurate appraisals are relatively expensive per domain, and free ones can be wildly out of whack.

does anyone know a cheap way to get a really ballpark figure estimate for a portfolio? it wouldn't have to be an iron-clad valuation, just from someone/ somewhere that a bank type person might go "...hmm, it's not my field, but we should be able to count this towards something"

:p

i am wondering if any financial insitutions are knowledgable to accept domains as collateral. It is still a long way to go.

well, it's not a loan, so it's not super serious.

if i could find a cheap appraisal method that sounds legit i'm sure it would be okay at the bank end... it's just getting the trusted (cheap) expert that's the problem...

I dont know much about it but try DigiPawn.com

Maybee if they value your names, offer you the money then it's start to providing proof.

Not sure if the owner of digipawn will do it so all it shows is proof of the value of your names.(without actually buying/paying for names from you)

cool. well, i don't want to waste anyone's time, and am willing to pay a little for it, but it's a thought - there are the skills out there.

might be a business idea for the not-too-distant future (if it isn't already).

all pretty easy if you have the respect/knowledge and can scan and give a rough, ballpark figure - not a lot of overheads
