I am starting to get into developing more web sites but...

I think I need to upgrade my equipment and programs

My equipment is an Old Packard Bell
Running at 300MHz
With 128 RAM and Windows 98SE

The programs I use are
Claris HomePage for my web editor
and MS Image Composer for graphics

Here are a couple of sites I made with these programs

http://www.genesisiim.com/ an older site that I no longer work on
http://www.riversharvest.org/ is one I just finished

What equipment and programs do you think I need?
Or do I keep using what I have?

Thanks John :p

Mine isnt bad, but you could ask yourself, do you NEED much more than 300mhz to make a html page? Not really.

However, graphics programs such as Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop are great - if you got the time to learn them! Heh.

Quantum upgrades are the most fun. You're in for a treat, old buddy! Get at least a mid-speed Pentium 4 (the highest speeds are too expensive), or a high-speed Celeron CPU. Then opt for a 1GB DDR RAM chip.

You should also consider moving to a higher-end graphics editor like Photoshop (better) or PSP (cheaper). I throughly enjoy Dreamweaver, but if you're comfortable with a text editor like notepad then its really not a necessity.

Definitely time to upgrade. Your designs seem to grab the basics, but you need to add that polished look all the kids like these days.

i would upgrade

can pick up p4 cpus really cheap now (£130 for a 2.8ghz,533hmz)

ram is pretty cheap
get as much as you can affoard imo
always helps

and then get a copy of xp and stick that on there

also how bigs the hdd and monitor?
upgrading the software on small monitors can be quite restrictive what with all the floating menus n stuff
then your set :D
