  • SedoMLS & Afternic integration
Plus, onchain superpowers you didn't know you needed:
  • Access to new onchain buyers
  • No transfer fees or lockups
  • Settlement times in seconds, not weeks
  • Eventually - lending and other decentralized finance tools
Come check us out. You'll never go back after experiencing faster, cheaper, and easier domaining onchain.

We'll use this thread to share announcements and get feedback from domainers like you. Drop me a line at [email protected] if you want to chat.

What wouldn't be fair is saddling a new owner with the hidden costs of a promo they did not agree to.
Yes I agree with you guys sorry for my bad behavior, but there are rare cases when we can donate a domain, family push etc, non profitable cases, not sure if UD can detect such cases.
But the internal push should be free in my opinion, because during push the domain does not get 1 year renewal as when it gets transferred, no matter sold or not sold. We basically pay for thin air inside the registrar. :xf.grin:

Anyway it is their rules and I want to say big thanks for UD and Brady, but not forget domainers will dump you as they did with Sav, all we are pretty and nice when the prices are low. :glasses:

edit: yes I get it, if the push is free, they think that the user can have 2 accounts and push domains between them so that he can transfer out without pay the saved cost, but this would be easy detectable when someone would do that en masse, considering one also needs different names per account.

Its not just about additional year not added during push. Imagine you transfer in a domain using discount offer and sell that domain to another person or even push it to your familiy member within a year.
Now if that person transfer out that domain within a year, they cant ask that person to pay the promo discount amount which they didnt agree to / not aware of.
Scammers are floating around everywhere as well.

Just paying back the discounted price by the person who got the offer is the simplest thing. Asking the second person who got the pushed domain to compensate is not. That will complicate things.

Heads up, if you let a domain expire it gets set to parktons .com which is a zero click ad network while showing the nameservers did not change in your dashboard. Yikes.

Also, unable to detokenize expired domains to unlock and get the auth code. Is this a bug or a tactic? Blocking this procedure violates ICANN's Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy, which states registrars cannot deny transfers solely due to expiration or non-renewal.

I voted for UD as best registrar of the year, this stuff is unacceptable.

some do this
however I agree one would not think a place which seems so generous on promos would be starving for clicks.

I emailed support
let's see

The difference is others like Dynadot & GoDaddy use click ads. Zero click is spammy, even malicious, and can hurt your domains. Namebright just puts it on an expired lander. Some like Porkbun & Spaceship even leave the DNS active 1–2 weeks after expiration.

Wow that is a huge risk for .xyz domains, the registry eagerly suspends domains flagged by spam detectors and other blacklisters.

u r right
it's not good
I'm sure brady will explain.
because he already made it very clear we can transfer out during expiry. no extra fee. so when u say we get code it makes zero sense.

Update: I am told it is indeed a bug that is getting worked on, and they gave me $12 credit to renew the domain in question.

No word on the ads, though.

You might save 9k - it is ok.

But this has nothing to do with how the company acts in a critical situation or how they behave.

I contacted this mail and requested abuse report. They never replied.
This is how they behave.
Luckily I am not that crazy to put here domains I bought for 4k, 10k, 18k.... that would be disaster.

Do the "Generate Invoice" link work for you guys? It hasn't worked for me for about a week now. When clicking the blue "Generate Invoice" link for a specific order, it turns grey and then nothing happens. Normally it downloads the invoice within seconds.

I have contacted support but they haven't fixed the problem yet.
we are working on fixing this

yes you all have discussed all the reasons here.

our terms have always stated that push required payback of the discount. we simply did not enforce payback upon push until last week. it was a loophole that could allow users to abuse our promos and transfer out without paying back the discount, and if we did not patch it then we would be losing too much money and we'd need to end the promo

since domainer sell through rates are on the order of ~1% then you should only be suffering a 1% payback rate on pushes or transfers and you should still be very much benefitting from the promo

@UnstoppableDomains There is no way to disable Sedo MLS Fast Transfer in my Unstoppable account, like I can do with Afternic Fast Transfer. Are you planning to add that feature?

yes we are, but it may take some time. You can still do it from your sedo dashboard, correct?
