Universally Appealing Star Name

Ladies/Gents

I have been made an offer for Uni-Star.com today, but I believe it is worth far far more. Obviously a domain is worth whatever a buyer is prepared to pay, but could you share your comments please?

Thanks

LBM

.US domains.US domains
Uni-Star.com

Unie abrievation and the hyphen bring the domain down a lot so I'd say low XX. :|

Worth far more than ... (what is the current amount being offered), and from whom? :gl:
Is it from the folks at the non-hyphenated version, if you know?
Here are some other potential End user "leads" (from Google), as well:

I would also check: www.uspto.gov ... to be sure that there aren't any potential ™ issues before starting further marketings/negotiations with End users, IMHO.
All the best!

Thanks for the feed back guys and links Jeff.

Yes I appreciate values fall with hyphens, but some names are far less affected by hyphens than others Jeff. Hyphens work with some names.

I have now been offered 250 Euro, although usual SEDO fees apply, so effectively 200 Euro. I'll probabaly accept, but thought I'd run it past you guys.

Cheers

Ian

Nooo ... I meant that perhaps the curent owners of the non-hyphenated version, "UniStar.com" might be interested in this domain name, as well Ian. :talk:
As part of an End user marketing campaign to sell this domain for top valuations, I'd include them, the links provided above, as well as any others you might find out there amongst the Google, whathaveyou IMHO.
Using $200/$250 Euro as a fall-back plan, of course, at Sedo ... (accept it if you don't have the time / resources / etc. for the End user marketings, ie., in "Quick Sale"). :tu:
All the best!

Jeff

I knew what you meant. My reference was to the general view on the hyphen aspect within the string, but I inadvertently made refernce to you, when it was meant to be directed to everyone :)

Thanks again

Cheers!

Problem with Sedo offers is it's hard to get a feel for who the buyer is. But that's a pretty low offer. I would at least counter for double and probably upwards of 1000 EUR if it was my name and I wasn't worried about making the sale. It's a gamble, but worth the risk IMHO.

There are several Uni-Star companies that have the dash in their actual business name. To any of them, having the dashed version would be perfect, so I wouldn't worry about owning a sub-premium name because of the hyphen.

And check this news story from earlier this year:
http://www.multi-housingnews.com/mu...article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000492174
"Uni-Star is a newly-formed joint venture real estate development and investment company between Universal Companies (Kenny Gamble) and North Star (Dr. Walter Lomax). Rahim Islam, principal of Uni-Star and president/CEO of Universal Companies, is enthused about Symphony House. "Uni-Star is extremely honored to work with Dranoff Properties on this most important project."
