Unique Promotion Techniques

I am interested in learning about some alternative forms of advertising. I am interested in myspace, blogs and unique community sites for promoting.

If you know of anything like that please post here and if you don't want to share publicly please pm me.

I am willing to part with some np's or even a few dollars if I can get some help getting started with a good and unique form of promotion..

I have found a few different things myself but only time will tell if they are any good. One of the main reasons I am asking about myspace is because I have found some of my sites getting loads of referrals from myspace profiles... I figure maybe a popular member or members have added some of my links to thier profiles.....

I would also like some info on blog advertising. Most free blogs do not allow you to use thier script for promotion but are there any that do allow promotion?

I am also looking into articles and that technique of promoting...

Finally, if there are members here that have experience promoting stores and commerce sites I would love some info on that particular style of advertising...

I am hoping this thread can turn into a informative discussion on unique advertising and promotion ideas and concepts. I am trying to extend my capabilities for my own sites and for my clients too. I view seo not only as search engine optimization but I view it as a whole package including promotion and traffic etc...

Yeah, actually I did sign up for digg a month or so ago but I have not utilized it fully yet... I appreciate the "cootzotic" but seeing that it does not exist yet it doesn't help much....lol ...

Does anyone use myspace or blogs to promote thier sites?

I would also love to hear some opinions on adbright, link-vault, digital coop and things like that... link exchanges... I know google shies away from this but are there any that are worth while for traffic purposes and not neccesarily pr???

One of the main problems many site owners have is the misconception that every high pr link back is worthwhile. I used to think the same thing but after studying seo I have learned that the best link backs are high pr on sites that have related content and keywords.... That is how you build pr... I am asking about the link exchange programs though from a traffic standpoint. Some offer a points system that gets you links or banners that are placed on relevant sites... It is very hard to track this type of promotion. That is why I would like opinions...

yeah! i got over 200 uniques on the very first day. Digg is a good way to get traffic if you have something interesting in your site.
