Summer boost for a proxy?

Hey!

For forums summer boosting is mostly easy. You can start to boost it with writing more contents. This applies also for blogs, but what you can to for a proxy, when almost 40% of your traffic can leave. My traffic isn't mostly from schools, which is good thing, but I'd like to still make a summer boost for my proxy? How?

I have used these promotion techniques:

1) Myspace advertising
2) Topsite advertising
3) Promoting for friends and relatives
4) Forum advertising (signatures, posts)
5) Submitting to link directories

That's it, with those methods I have 100+ unique per day. I am afraid they will drop to 50 when summer comes, so what about, if I try to make them.. 200? How?

Firstly i would try and use what you have currently got and expand on this. Looking at that list i can pick out 2 big areas that you could market and are likely to succeed.

Firstly i would look at myspace advertising. Being the holidays people will have friends and family who are off on holiday and many young people will be stuck at home bored on the computer. Myspace is a social networking website and alot of people use it frequently. Many people will be stuck on there making bullets like 'im bored' or 'fancy going to the mall?'. They will also read every part of their friends blogs just to stop them from getting to bored. My way to tackle this would be to create a link from your myspace account and make plenty of bulletins. As to not get kicked off myspace for spam dont include the URL of your website in it, allow people to come to your page and find it!

The other thing that sticks out would be forum advertising. For the same reasons about you will get alot of younger people going on forums reading through lots of posts and posting frequently. If you post alot you are likely to get alot of responces from links in your signature (mostly curiosity) and posting about your website for reviewing will increase your visitors as well (mostly on younger peoples forums not webmaster etc)

Once you have achieved this then you will start to see an increase in your traffic coming to your website and can move on to more advanced marketing methods!

Making 5$ per month doesnt seem to much to expect over the summer months. There are 2 ways i would use to get more revenue (as i expect the myspace and forum advertising will produce $1-4 month).

The first way is to see what countrys dont have holidays at that time and market it towards them. Another way is to market the website at people who work. This would probably mean alot more research and doing some very different types of marketing but could open your website up to different target markets and with enough marketing could make you $50 a month easily!

Oh.. month, I meant day. :D This was pretty funny. My proxy traffic hasn't went down now after I got reliable host and it's been very active I see.

Well i will use these months to do some SEO for my proxies. Basically, when the schools open then a good google ranking can get you serious traffic increase and this traffic wil be sustained instead of the temporary one time traffic that you might get at myspace etc.

anyways, too many people are marketing their products at myspace.

I just watched my stats.. and I confused. Only 1.9% of my traffic comes from google! What should I do to correct this? I know nothing about google and SEO. I have promoted my website with the following tactic:

Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines)

Now even 20% of my traffic comes from those.

What should I do for google?

Backlinks backlinks backlinks.

Google PR goes up with backlinks and age. You won't see results over night or anything, but getting backlinks really does help. Either buy them, or just wait for all eternity. A site that is a year or more old generally gets its own PR (without any direct effort) just from being around so long, and there are some links for it at other sites just because sites get linked to over time :p
