Unauthorized Transfer Requests ??

Hi guys, I just got a transfer request from GoDaddy for one of my enom names that I recently won in a NameJet auction.

Do you think it could be likely someone is trying to steal it or is it common to get requests by mistake. ( I have never had one before in the last 2 years)

I called GoDaddy and explained that the request could be an attempt to steal the name but the rep was pretty casual about it and said its likely a mistake and as long as its still locked then don't worry about it.

Needless to say he would'nt give me the details of the person making the transfer request but I did ask him to make a note of my call and the other persons name just in case it somehow went missing.

So what do you think, attempted theft or common mistake ?

Anything else I need to do to be safe ?

Just don't approve the transfer. It could be that someone reeeally likes your domain, or maybe just a godaddy error...

I'm sure they do, its a peach ! :hehe: but it's not for FREE !

A while ago I got a load of them on one name.

I emailed the registrar who was initiating the transfer several times to tell them to stop it, didn't get any response, but after the "transfer will fail after this date unless you approve it" time period passed, the daily emails about the transfer status stopped.

Keep it locked and relax. You did the right thing by asking the rep to make a note of your call because now you have something to fall back on in the unlikely the event your domain does get pinched

Thanks Guys Now I can relax alot more, although I think I will also make a few screenshots showing it in my enom and NameJet account (just in case).

There seems to be alot of reported domain thefts lately when they transfer it and then immediately push it to somewhere else, at least if this happens to my one now GoDaddys REP should know who's behind it.
