I'm full of questions today. There is a domain I was interested in, and it's owned by Ultimate Search - AKA ultsearch.com. Anyone familiar with this company? They own tons of stuff, but when you get their page they don't list the domains as being for sale. It takes you to a search page without any ads. I assume they are getting paid on click-thrus when people land at those pages.

The domain in question is a celebrity name, but I'd be willing to bet if I said who is was, the majority of people here wouldn't be able to tell me who this person is. (I don't imagine this domain makes them very money.) As a matter of fact, this person's name is ususally misspelled, and they have registered it both ways.

Anyone dealt with them or have any information? I would love to buy this domain, unless they would ask thousands of dollars for it.

I have never heard of Ult selling a name. He is like Hoover, just keeps sucking 'em up. I read somewhere that he has thousands of domains and makes 6 figures a day on ppc income. I had a name backordered at Pool, but he snagged it before Pool could.
Anyway, good luck on your quest.

Thousands, more like 10's of thousands from what I've heard.

unless its a good offer well worthwhile, I would assume he would just not respond.

Thanks,

Okay, so it's not worth my time. I think I ended up with something better, in a way.

The domain in question is busyphilipps.com. She is an actress. Her last name, Philipps, is commonly misspelled as Phillips. Ultsearch owns busyphilipps.com and busyphillips.com. Since my goal is a fan site, I registered busyfan.com. I guess the fact that she has an unusual first name paid off for me. And it should be easy to remember, and even her fans won't have to learn how to spell her name properly.

I think Busyfan.com sounds a lot easier to remember (and cheaper) then the other two..

Good luck with your project. :)

I agree. BusyFan.com will make a much better if not easier to type site.

Congrats on the name!

Good choice. Save yourself some money and develop the site! :)
