It was just pointed out to me that Ubiquiti (a networking hardware manufacturer) has changed their domain recently from UBNT.com to UI.com.
It seems as though this name has a bit of history from here on Namepros from this post back in 2007 https://www.namepros.com/threads/ui-com-customer-story-afternicdls.405264/ and also reported on DNW https://domainnamewire.com/tag/odcom/ in August 2008 reporting a sale price of $275,000 USD.
The name appears to have been used by someone for a website named "Ultimate Information" as late as 2016 https://web.archive.org/web/20160216065756/http://ui.com/ and a landing page with a "UI Advertising" logo on it as late as March 2018 https://web.archive.org/web/20180315003502/http://ui.com:80/.
It's been mentioned on reddit a few times in January but from what I can see, not from those who are prominent in the domaining community.
I guess that this one has been sold on to the firm recently... nice name and probably a nice price.
