Any thoughts on this one? Could be a good name for a Texas Insurance agency?

When the rocket scientists at NASA figure out a way to remove the first two characters of a domain name, you will have a keeper.

But since current registrar control panels DO NOT include an "edit domain text" option, all I can say is: "Houston we have a problem"! Grace delete this monstrosity and organize a group prayer for this domain's inner soul as it returns to the dark kingdom of the unregistered losers of cyberspace. IMO.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that this is a FREE appraisal. This is a guess at quick flip resale value not an unrealistic end-user price. Often times my appraisals are rushed, too low, or too high. Sometimes my advice is totally wrong and occasionally downright dumb. If the post stamp is after 5:00pm EST, the chances are even greater that inaccuracies will occur due to blood alcohol levels.

Microguy, I'm not sure if you're trolling or not, but I've read some of your other 'valuations' on here and it seems like you don't have the faintest idea what you're talking about. 'TX Car Insurance' gets nearly 10k monthly hits according to the Google Adwords tool and it has an EPC of nearly $40!

In my opinion, the problem with your domain is the "TX" at the beginning. I've been doing this for a long time and it is my view that these two characters SEVERELY devalue this domain. IMO.

Let's look at some similar sales now:

TexasCarInsurance.com | $4,625 | Aug 09 | Afternic (I would pitch it to this owner.)
FortWorthCarInsurance.com | $6,000 | Aug 09 | Afternic
HoustonCarInsurance.com | $5,900 | Aug 09 | Afternic
SanAntonioCarInsurance.com | $6,000 | Aug 09 | Afternic
AustinCarInsurance. com | $700 | Oct 06 | Afternic
NyCarInsurance com | $2,300 | Aug 09 | Afternic

I'd say it's worth $1-2k if you pitch it to an end user (especially the person/group who just bought all those texas based car insurance domains). At the very least try to get $500 for it.

These are not good comps. Show me some "TX" sales. IMO.

There's a few TX related domain sales, but not for car insurance.
TXWindSolar.com | $700 | Mar 09 | SEDO
TXSummerCamps.com |$250 |Jun 08 |Afternic
TXHomeLoans.com |$2,867 | Mar 06 | Snapnames
A few more at: DnSalePrice.com

Despite that, there's clearly a buyer out there to pitch the domain to, who just recently bought some texas car insurance based domains in August. I'm almost certain the buyer would be interested in TXCarInsurance.com, if it's offered at a good price. Even if not, the domain is still worth more than reg fee... ;)

Thanks but this is not 2006. Things have changed A LOT since 2006. IMO. :P

Things have changed since 2006 for sure, but to say this domain is worth reg fee, is a bit ridiculous IMO. Will you be able to admit your own error of judgement? :p

I'm wrong about 65% of the time. But that 35% is REALLY nice and has provided me with a lifetime of financial freedom. Do what you wish with this domain, it's only my opinion. Have fun, enjoy life. IMO.

Saucey: Probably a dumb question, but where do I find the exact/broad option?

Well, for the true test of reseller value, put this domain on Namepros marketplace in an auction... Then you'll see that the "reg fee" appraisals weren't given to be mean, they were given to show the cold, hard reality of domain investing....

Of course, to an enduser, the sky is the limit, but then it always is with endusers....

mjb: How can you maintain that this domain is worth reg fee given that TXHomeLoans.com sold for nearly 3k in 2006?

Even if this domain was put into auction here, I'm almost certain it would go for much more than regfee. The high possibility of this domain being turned over for more, far out weighs the "reg fee" opinions listed in this thread, especially with the information I added which shows it has VALUE.

Hi.. I never said it was reg fee, I was explaining why some resellers might say reg fee...

If I owned this domain, I would definitely hold out for an end user...I guess that's the point I was trying to make, if you believe in your domain, then stand your ground, and ask for what you believe it's worth...

mjb: How can you maintain that this domain is worth reg fee given that TXHomeLoans.com sold for nearly 3k in 2006?
