.tv TVs in Domain Roundtable Auction next week

I was browsing the auction listings and saw a couple interesting things. I didn't see this posted anywhere, so apologies if already discussed. FYI: I have nothing listed in the auction or anything to do with the auction. http://www.domaintools.com/live-auction/browse-domains.html

1. eTV.com item #6 $899,000 reserve price. It will be interesting to see if this one sells? Didn’t JohnTV recently reg e.tv?, what a blockbuster.

2. Hot.TV # 430 $35,000 reserve price. Great name. The auction notes state that this name is regged through 2020. No mention of premium name or renewal cost (beyond 2020). I was curious and checked. Hot.tv was initially regged in 2000 so 20yrs paid upfront. When I checked the premium rate I was a bit surprised: $62,500/year. Is it just me, or something doesn’t add up here?

Well, if it is paid through 2020, then the person selling is probably writing it off for taxes if that is that actual renewal price. I'd like the have that write off.

Also....meh....another sale that could be hurt by stupid premium renewel prices.

There will come a time, unless DM/Verisign changes the policy, when no one will bother with the premiums and only keep trading the hand reg's because there is no confusion with them.

Got a .US name that now reads "eligible for auction", but it's not in the list of 450 names. I don't see any .info or .us stand alone names in the list. Just a few sprinkled among the portfolios for sale.

Hi CarryOn, thanks for this auction information, yes I regged e.tv and will look at the etv.com auction with a little bit more than normal interest. Personally I think the reserve price is way too high, but you never know
