What do you guys think the value of a .tv in today market for the same domain be compared to a .com name. For example, let's say Internet.com sells for 3 million what do you think Internet.tv would sell for. 1/5 of .com, 1/4 of .com, etc?
The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It is near impossible to say a % as of course every domain had different circumstances but to take a guess.
2007: .tv is worth 2 - 5% of .com
2010: .tv is worth 5 - 10 % of .com
They figues are just a guess though judging by recent sales and what i've seen on the forum, i stated the figure for 2010 also as i think it should be remembered that .tv is just starting to make an impact and it will take a minium of 3 years before we really get the bigger sales.
All that is just my view of course, i may be completely wrong as usual
I agree, 2.5% seems like a reasonable estimate, although, of course, it also depends on the name, some are very compatable with the .tv extension.
For example my.tv might fetch a higher amount then 2.5% of the my.com name value, but on average, if you really have to name a %, Ray's 2.5% seems fair.
Could be up the coming years like Ronnie mentioned.
wow.. 1 million for six.com.... whomever bought your six.tv actually probably got it for a steal.... three years from now people will probably be looking back and saying that was a good deal for them.
It will probably we worth atleast 3 times what your sold it for... if the trends we are seeing continue.... The last offers I have recieved for beer.tv have doubled each time over the past 5 months...
I thought when they bought it they got it for a steal the domain makes $3000 a year in PPC with only a $500 renewal. That's why for Tea.tv someone better be thinking highxx, xxx or low xxx,xxx because as many have hypothesized your BEER.tv being worth $50,000 to $70,000 I think Tea.tv worth at least 1/3 more as more people drink tea than beer as 1/3 of the world not even old enough to drink beer but they do drink Tea. Again IMO
Oh and I think your Beer.tv is a great domain too, but tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world after water, Beer does not even equal tea let alone out do it 3 to 1
Maybe we can find one conglomerate to buy both for mid xxx,xxx
