If you still not decided whether this is a good business, don't wait too long. Go get your .TV while still hot. You can still register a .TV extension for as low as $23.95/year for non-premium.

Cheers to all,

You have any info that this is just "demo" price?

TheWatcher, what do you mean by "get your .TV while still hot"? I think you may have meant to post in the advertising section.

Yes enom still in demo pricing at this time. They suppose to end it last May 31. I just spoke to the VP services but still no plan when to bring back the original pricing between $30-40/year. So enjoy the low discounted price as we can.

Cheers,
em

.TV is always hot and getting hottier. I'm only referring to the low registration at this time.

I thought this was for .TV only. Anyway, mod will do it for us.

Cheers,

I think it would be a bad move by DM/Enom to increase pricing before even properly marketing .TV So far since the launch I am seeing very little marketing, not to say things are not going on behind the scenes which I sincerely hope is happening. The Me.tv platform is geared more to the personable style of domains and for that category of buyer increasing the price I think would derail sales, imo.

They are actually marketing .TV domains in different conferences such as one in Chicago, Hosting conference, webex, and other conferences in the country. So advertising and marketing is still high priority from DM. This input came from VP that I spoke yesterday.

I'm just hoping that they will retain $23.95 non-premium domais so the registration continue.

Thank you TheWatcher, I am glad to hear this.

I raised concern about the registration cost of .TV, they will take a look of this business model. We now increase our advertising for .TV as well to help them move this product.

Cheers,

Thank you for the info. This is so far just 'intra-muros' lobbying which is good but this is not advertising and marketing, the extension does need PUBLIC OUTREACH campaign and this is THE priority.

Don't get me wrong, they are publicly marketing .TV everywhere. This is I like about .TV, my investment is supported by continous advertising of Demand Media offline and online approach.

Yes, but are they marketing TV anywhere to end users? Where are the "Get your Me.tv" ads? Where are the pushes to Joe User? The best way to kick start a campaign is word of mouth, and the word to end-users doesn't seem to be happening on a grand scale outside of what the 2000 or so me.tv sites are doing. (My number could be way off, I don't know)

I think they should be advertising on MTV for the social networking factor, just to help get the word out. Once you get a couple million teenagers and twenty-somethings using the extension, business will follow of it's own accord: business always ends up where the money is.

I've got an update from Dev. Manager of Demand Media this afternoon, they will announce another update regarding this tool. He said, it will also provide the same service for companies. We'll wait for update next week.
