Hello,

Did anyone already backordered a non-premium .tv domain ?
If yes, I would like some infos like the service used, etc...

Thanks.

Has anyone successfully used Snapnames for .tv domains ?

Try using namejet

Don't you think that there are premium re-pircing risks using namejet to backorder .tv domains since this dropcatcher is a enom related company ?

Once a domain is in pre-release at namejet it is regular reg fee. You cannot backorder any premium .tv's at enom, I have tried. I have previously contacted them a couple of days prior to a premium dropping and asked them to reserve it for me....They refused!!

Domain I'm looking for is in redemption period so I can't found it in namejet .. and it was not reg in a registrar which allow pre-release

Namejet only auctions non-premium domains. While I suppose there is some risk of repricing at a later date, that could be minimized by transferring the domain to another registrar after 60 days. Note that one can lose a domain won in Namejet auctions in some cases. I lost a Spanish .TV domain I had backordered at Namejet probably because I mentioned it one of the forums and someone said, "oops" and reclaimed it. So if you get your hands on a good name stay quiet for a month. I haven't seen any meaningful number of .TV domains at Snapnames so I believe the primary options are Namejet, Enom and TDNam.

There are also some domains that are not available for backorder anywhere. These are the one's that just drop and you have to try and catch yourself.

So according to you, there aren't any public dropcatchers for .tv domains ?
That's strange..

Godaddy is the number one domain registrar by far and drops by their clients go to TDNam before they are available elsewhere. As of matter of fact I have seen numerous cases where the same domain will reach the auction backorder date, noone picks it up and then Godaddy throws it back in the pool for another five days with a BIN price of $5. Note that the Godaddy .TV renewal discout code of gdbb776 can be used to save $15 off TDNam backorders.

Why don't you try & drop catch it yourself? Even if you don't know the exact drop date or time, you can run a script that will brute force every (1-2 seconds) a domain registration to register the .TV as soon as it drops for you.

The pending delete .TV drop catching game is very competitive for the non premium gems ;)

As mentioned also, try sifting through the .TV's at TDNAM

Dropcatch script

I'm no programmer so I wouldn't be able to run a script to catch drops but I'm not sure that would work for .TV. Correct me if I am mistaken but I believe the Enom and Network Solution drops automatically go to Namejet and the Godaddy drops automatically go to TDnam so if you want .TV your best bet is these marketplaces. On a few occasions I had my eye on an Enom .TV, missed the backorder deadline by a few minutes and basically Enom just holds on to it at that point - I suppose to reprice it as premium.
