Tucows - Opensrs.net Push Domain Question

I have a name I won recently (few weeks ago) at Snapnames and it's in an Tucows/Opensrs.net account. Somebody is wanting to buy but I can't transfer out. I see this option:

Change Ownership of Domain
You may create a new profile for this domain or move it to a different
profile you own.

Is that like a push to another account? So if buyer gets account there, should work?

That one is confusing, Tucows - Opensrs.net - Softcom - Myhosting get emails from a couple of them whenever I win a domain that goes into that account

eh, nevermind, dude on phone said you can't.

I haven't bothered to check, I would just transfer the name out.

The EPP code can be retrieved from the Opensrs control panel (normally the names at Myhosting are not locked). You should receive the confirmation link by E-mail the following day, then you can expedite the transfer.

So it's one day to get the job done.

"I would just transfer the name out."

It hasn't been 60 days yet, just a few weeks in there.

Is this is a drop or a prerelease ? Prerelease domains can be moved immediately.

Hi JB,

For help with any Tucows domain won in the SnapNames auction, please speak to the good folks at MyHosting.com (a Tucows reseller):

http://myhosting.com/help/

They offer phone, email, and chat support and are very familiar with dealing with Tucows domains won in auction.

FYI, there is NO 60-day lock or hold on auction domains; you can move the domain or sell it or do whatever you want with domain once you get full control over the domain via MyHosting.com.

Thanks for participating in the auction, and best of luck with your new domain name.

Yes, it was Snapnames Expiring Auction on this domain. So with these and Namejet PreRelease, you don't have to wait the 60 days, you can go ahead and transfer them out? That's good to know, thanks for the replies.

Bill, another question while you're here. For domains won at Snapnames and then moved over into a Tucow's account. I get 2 different places to login. Myhosting and Opensrs and I usually park these domains at VooDoo. I noticed I changed the DNS over at Opensrs to VooDoo and it works just fine. I also have a place at Myhosting to change the DNS. Which one takes precedent, which one should people use? The 2 logins and 2 places to make DNS changes for 1 domain is just confusing. Thanks.

Hello again, JB.

If the expired domain came from Tucows and was auctioned on SnapNames, you don't have to wait 60 days. We don't auction Tucows expired domains on NameJet.

Regarding where is the best place to make the DNS change, that is a question to ask the MyHosting.com folks. They handle all matters related to expired Tucows domains that are won in auction at SnapNames. I suspect the answer will be OpenSRS, but please check with MyHosting.com since the domain is on their platform. Cheers, Bill.

Thanks for the reply.

Thinking about it some more, it might be better if I just keep those domains at these other registrars for the first 60 days.

So if I can in fact transfer them out before the 60 days, if I get an offer on them, I can go ahead and sell it/transfer it out.

If I transferred over to GoDaddy, then get an offer, I can still push to another GoDaddy account, but I can't transfer it out to another registrar if they buyer wants it someplace other than GoDaddy.

Just got off the phone with Moniker, said transferring out was based on creation date. If it was one you registered within 60 days, you can't, which I knew. But since these domains at Namejet/Snapnames are usually many years old, the creation date is going to be past that 60 days, so you can transfer them out immediately.
