Hello fleaking,
Yes it is a very popular term. Let me try and explain why it is also a very good term. Travel = one of the Internets biggest growth industries. Almost everyone who wishes to travel these days looks at options offered online at some point due to the latest deals on vacations or general travel information etc... due to convenience and upto date information and usually better deals online regardng price value. Shop = business built in the virtual world or the real world designed to sell products and make a profit. "travelshop.tv" is very specific about what it is selling and is an extremely easy name to remember so customers will remember it and keep on returning for more. The domain also contains very generic names so I doubt trademarks will get in the way of anyone wanting to develop it so there is more scope for its use globally and you are very fortunate to have the .tv extension which is now a very global domain extension like .com becoming very popular all over the world. "travelshop.tv" is very similar to "travelstore.tv" and for your information "travelstore.tv" is owned by Jason Chapnik personally. The whole point in buying domains as we do is quite simply to make money and there is much more to consider than just registering a domain name and think you are going to become rich. There are very few domains I see posted for appraisal on these types of forums that I would even allow into my accounts for free but travelshop.tv is one I would be buying for sure. You scored a bullseye when you registered it and my advice to you would be to KEEP IT locked up safe and sound until .tv hits the big time which it most definitely will in the near future.
Regards,
Ree
PS: Almost forgot to mention....... I would stongly advise you to backup and keep the email reciept you received when you purchased it to prove you own it and also take screen snapshots of the "whois" from several different registrars showing your name, address and registration/renewal dates. I would also put it on PPC so others see and witness you are the owner of the domain. Make sure you keep your creditcard statement showing that particular purchase to prove you also paid for it. It might seem a little paranoid but all domain owners should trust me on this one!
