I have a couple of domain names that i plan to sell. I have some target buyers but they don't have any existing domain names/websites so they don't have any ties to a registrar.

If i have them create an account with the registrar i used to purchase the domain names at, does this make it easier to transfer the name, especially if the name hasn't been registered for 60 days yet?

Any feedback or reading materials about the transferring process to non domainers would be greatly appreciated!

Yes it is called a push.....as long as you both have a account at the same registrar...then its simple to do....

Just Google "how to push domain at (insert your registrar here) and it will show you how to do it

Just to note that some registrars do not offer domain pushes, in that case only a transfer out is possible (with the EPP/Auth code)
If you are using a marketplace or escrow service for your transaction, they will guide the buyer for you most of the time

I'm sure @DAN.COM does it (plus they have existing guides/Q&A for buyers, but their transfer agents will likely help the buyers if they don't know how to proceed). I would say the same with Epik, Sedo (For sedo, they helped me to do the contact change of a .NU name, it took a few days to complete but they helped), Escrow (but only if you pay them extra fees to handle the transfer, nah..) maybe some others too

Oh that, I don't have the list but there are still registrars that don't offer that for sure.
Like TuCows resellers https://www.namepros.com/threads/registrar-do-not-have-push-option.1210955/
OpenSRS resellers (they are linked), can't do a push at shopify for example, but it's not something their users ask for..
Hostpapa, maybe https://www.namepros.com/threads/hostpapa-push.1190148/

Yes. In general with under 60 day a push is only possible to another account at same registrar.

I think it depends on the buyer and registrar how willing. Some end users prefer certain big name registrars, and do not clearly understand that where the domain is registered does not in any way limit where your web hosting for the domain name can be.

If your registrar has a marketplace, another option is to sell it through that marketplace. In the first 60 days that is normally where I list names for sale, and I prefer registrars that do have a marketplace. There will be a small commission, but they handle the transfer, take the payment, and pay you. Check restrictions on withdrawing funds, however, if you don't plan to use for services at the registrar.

  • A broker will teach you how to do it, too
